Energy FM (Isle Of Man)
Energy FM ( gv, Bree FM) is an Isle of Man based radio station which started broadcasting in 2001. Transmission Energy FM broadcasts from the Isle of Man on 98.6, 91.2, 93.4, 98.4, 102.4 and 105.2 FM and online via the website energyfm.net and UK Radioplayer. The FM signal can be heard as far away as north Wales, southern Scotland, west Lancashire, and the east of Northern Ireland. Background Energy FM is a local radio station in the Isle of Man, providing music and local news for a family audience. It is licensed by the Isle of Man Communications Commission under the Broadcasting Act 1990. Energy FM started broadcasting on 27 July 2001 and was originally licensed for two years to provide a service aimed at a young audience, playing a mixture of chart and dance music. Douglas, Isle Of Man
Douglas ( gv, Doolish, ) is the capital and largest town of the Isle of Man, with a population of 26,677 (2021). It is located at the mouth of the River Douglas, and on a sweeping bay of . The River Douglas forms part of the town's harbour and main commercial port. Douglas was a small settlement until it grew rapidly as a result of links with the English port of Liverpool in the 18th century. Further population growth came in the following century, resulting during the 1860s in a staged transfer of the High Courts, the Lieutenant Governor's residence, and finally the seat of the legislature, Tynwald, to Douglas from the ancient capital, Castletown. Maughold (parish)
Maughold ( ; gv, Maghal) is one of the seventeen parishes of the Isle of Man. It is named for St Maughold, the island's patron saint. It is located on the east of the island (part of the traditional ''South Side'' division) in the sheading of Garff. Administratively, part of the historic parish of Maughold is now within Ramsey town. Ballure is another settlement in the parish. Ramsey ( gv, Rhumsaa) is a coastal town in the north of the Isle of Man. It is the second largest town on the island after Douglas. Its population is 7,845 according to the 2016 Census. It has one of the biggest harbours on the island, and has a prominent derelict pier, called the Queen's Pier (currently under restoration). Jurby ( on, djúra-bý – deer settlement - animal park) () is one of the seventeen parishes of the Isle of Man. It is located in the north-west of the island (part of the traditional ''North Side'' division) in the sheading of Michael. Snaefell
Snaefell ( on, snjœ-fjall/snjó-fall – snow mountain) – ( gv, Sniaull) is the highest mountain and the only summit higher than on the Isle of Man, at above sea level. The summit is crowned by a railway station, cafe and several communications masts. Views It is a well-known saying in the Isle of Man that on a clear day six kingdoms can be seen from the top: the Isle of Man, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Heaven. Some versions add a seventh kingdom, that of Manannán (or the sea). Braddan ( gv, Braddan) is one of the seventeen parishes of the Isle of Man. It is located on the east of the island (part of the traditional ''South Side'' division) in the sheading of Middle. Administratively, a small part of the historic parish of Braddan is now covered by part of the borough of Douglas, the capital and largest town of the Isle of Man.
