End Of Daze
''End of Daze'' is the fourth EP by Dum Dum Girls, released September 25, 2012 by Sub Pop. This was the third Dum Dum Girls recording produced by Richard Gottehrer and the Raveonettes' Sune Rose Wagner, and the fourth overall for Gottehrer. Background Three songs from the EP ("Mine Tonight", "I Got Nothing" and "Trees and Flowers") were originally recorded for 2011's '' Only in Dreams'', but were put aside for being "too different" and "atmospheric". These songs were intended to be used as B-sides; the cover of Strawberry Switchblade's "Trees and Flowers" was meant to accompany "Bedroom Eyes" on an unreleased 7" single. The remaining songs were recorded a year later in Chelsea, Manhattan. "Lord Knows" was released as a single on July 31, 2012. Dum Dum Girls was an American rock band, formed in 2008. It began as the bedroom recording project of singer and songwriter Dee Dee (née Kristin Gundred). She is currently based in Los Angeles. Phonograph Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Starting in the 1940s polyvinyl chloride became common, hence the name vinyl. The phonograph record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. Rose McDowall
Rose McDowall (née Porter; born 21 October 1959) is a Scottish musician, forming Strawberry Switchblade with Jill Bryson in 1981. History McDowall was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1959. Her first venture into music was in the Poems, an art-punk trio formed in 1978 with her then-husband Drew McDowall. She then formed Strawberry Switchblade in 1981 with Jill Bryson. After signing with Warner Bros. Records, they enjoyed chart success with their single "Since Yesterday" in 1984; however, later singles and an album did not sell as well as expected. This and internal problems led to an acrimonious split in 1986. Strawberry Switchblade were a Scottish new wave/pop duo formed in Glasgow in 1981 by Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall, best known for their song "Since Yesterday" from 1985, and their flamboyant clothing with bows and polka-dots. Kristin Gundred, known professionally as Kristin Kontrol, is an American musician, singer and songwriter. She is best known as founder and lead singer of indie rock band Dum Dum Girls (using the pseudonym Dee Dee), with whom she released five studio albums between 2010 and 2014. She began working on new material in 2015, and announced Kristin Kontrol as her new solo project on January 28, 2016. Her debut album, ''X-Communicate'', was released on May 27, 2016 on Sub Pop Records. It was a departure from the sound she had explored with Dum Dum Girls, leaning towards synthpop.
