Encuentro ( en, "Encounter") is an Argentine television channel owned and operated by the Argentine Ministry of Education. It began broadcasting in 2007 through cable television operators in the country. It airs as an independent channel and also as a programming block on Canal 7 from Argentina. Pakapaka
Pakapaka is an Argentine television channel and website providing shows and original programming for children ages 2 to 12 and their families. Launched initially as a programming section in the Encuentro television channel on September 23, 2007, and later as a digital terrestrial television and FTA channel on September 17, 2010, although regular transmissions begun on September 9. It is operated by Argentina's Ministry of Education. The word ''paka paka'' in Quechua language refers to the "hide and seek" game. Programming The channel transmits 24 hours a day. Its programming is divided in two blocks. Darío Gabriel Sztajnszrajber (''/shtainshráiber/'', Buenos Aires, Argentina;, 16 June 1968 is a Hispanophone philosopher, essayist, teacher, and television presenter. An agnostic of Jewish extraction he is also the brother of Argentinian journalist Mauro Szeta, a specialist in police matters. He has been a teacher at all educational levels including primary, secondary, university and postgraduate studies in philosophy at the Latin American Social Sciences Institute and the undergraduate level at the University of Buenos Aires. Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequency, radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter). Ciné film or cine film is the term commonly used in the UK and historically in the US to refer to the 8 mm, Super 8, 9.5 mm, and 16 mm motion picture film formats used for home movies. Block programming is the arrangement of programs on radio or television so that those of a particular genre, theme, or target audience are united. Overview Block programming involves scheduling a series of related shows which are likely to attract and hold a given audience for a long period of time. Notable examples of overt block programming were NBC's Thursday evening "Must See TV" lineup, which included two hours of sitcoms and one hour of '' ER'', and Channel 4's " T4" program which often ran sitcoms back-to-back for an hour or more. Reruns on cable television are often assembled into similar blocks to fill several hours of generally little-watched daytime periods.
