Encontro Irmandiño
Encontro Irmandiño (EI, '' Irmandiño Meeting'' in English) is a political organization that is part of Anova-Nationalist Brotherhood in Galicia, Spain. It used to be an internal current in the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG). EI was founded in 2007 and has an ideology based in Galician nationalism, direct democracy, anticapitalism, feminism and alter-globalization. History Encontro Irmandiño was founded as an internal current of the BNG on 21 July 2007 at a meeting in Santiago de Compostela. Led by Xosé Manuel Beiras, EI advocated for a return to the founding principles of BNG, as assembly-based internal democracy and communication between the different levels of the organization. Encontro Irmadiño abandoned the BNG in 2012. Xosé Manuel Beiras
Xosé Manuel Hixinio Beiras Torrado (born 7 April 1936) is a Galician politician, economist, writer and intellectual. He is professor of Structural Economy at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is a former member of the National Council of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG in the Galician acronym), he is currently the leader of Renewal–Nationalist Brotherhood, an independentist political party. He formerly had representation in the Galician parliament. Academic life Beiras graduated with a law degree in 1957 from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Galician Workers' Front (FOGA, ''Fronte Obreira Galega'' in Galician language) is a Galician political organization. Movemento pola Base (English: ''Movement for the Grassroots'', ''MpB'') is a Galician pro-independence and left-wing political organization. The MpB was born in the summer of 2006 from a group of militants of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), critical with the political line of the organization at the time. The Galician People's Front ( gl, Frente Popular Galega) is a Galician political organization with a socialist and independentist ideology.
