Enclave (film)
''Enclave'' ( sr, / ) is a 2015 internationally co-produced propaganda drama film directed by Goran Radovanović. It was one of six films shortlisted by Serbia to be their submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but it was not nominated. On 3 September 2015 it was selected to represent Serbia for the Foreign Language Oscar. The main theme of the film is life of Kosovo Serbs in small isolated ethnic enclaves. Plot The film follows a young Serbian boy named Nenad, who was living in a ghetto that was the product of a previous war. Rather than having a linear plot line, the film focuses on the different unfortunate events in Nenad's life, sometimes revisiting past events. Serbian enclaves are settlements in Kosovo outside North Kosovo ("south of the Ibar") where Serbs form a majority. Serbia has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film under three different names since the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. Despite the name changes, all submitted films since 1994 have been Serbian productions. This is a list of submissions to the 88th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue.
