Emyr Humphreys
Emyr Humphreys (; 15 April 191930 September 2020) was a Welsh novelist, poet, and author. His career spanned from the 1940s until his retirement in 2009. He published in both English and Welsh. Early life and career Humphreys was born on 15 April 1919 at Prestatyn in Denbighshire. He was educated at Rhyl High School, where, as E. O. Humphreys, he started composing poetry and wrote for ''The Welsh Nationalist,'' the monthly English-language newspaper of the Welsh Nationalist Party, later called by Plaid Cymru. He went on to study history and English at University of Wales, Aberystwyth, after winning a scholarship to study there. However, he did not graduate due to the start of the Second World War. During the war, Humphreys registered as a conscientious objector and worked on a farm. He subsequently undertook relief work in Egypt and Italy. Sir Emyr Jones Parry (born 21 September 1947) is a British retired diplomat. He is a former Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations and former UK Permanent Representative on the North Atlantic Council. Education Jones Parry was educated at Gwendraeth Grammar School, and went on to take theoretical physics at University College Cardiff (where he was President of the Students' Union). Later, he gained a PhD degree in polymer physics at St Catharine's College, Cambridge. Emyr Llewelyn
Emyr Llywelyn Jones is a Welsh political activist, who was active during the 1960s and 1970s. Mudiad Adfer was established based on his philosophies, and those of Owain Owain and Professor J. R. Jones. Commonly known as Emyr Llywelyn, he is also known as Emyr Llew. He is the son of author and poet T. Llew Jones. Llywelyn was educated at Ysgol Gynradd Coed-y-bryn, Llandysul Grammar School, and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He is one of the founders and a contributor to the Welsh monthly publication, '' Y Faner Newydd''. Llywelyn was imprisoned in 1963 for causing damage to the building site of the dam at Tryweryn; he was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment. In 2000 Llywelyn, who at that time was a member of Cylch Yr Iaith, was imprisoned again, this time for a week for not paying his TV licence. Gwilym "Gwil" Emyr Owen III (born July 24, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter of Welsh heritage. Career Gwil was born in Syracuse, New York, grew up in Granville, Ohio, and attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, but did not graduate. He moved to Boston in 1981 and played in the formerly Spartanburg, South Carolina-based band The Detonators along with long-time musical partner Jeff Finlin. They moved to Nashville in 1983 and formed the band The Thieves, which recorded the album Seduced by Money for Bug/Capitol Records in 1988. Since then, he has performed as a solo singer-songwriter, and his songs have been covered by Toni Price, Irma Thomas, Little Feat, and Jack Ingram, among others. Emyr Wyn Huws (born 30 September 1993) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Wales national team. He came through the youth systems of Swansea City and Manchester City before turning professional with the latter. He spent time on loan at Northampton Town and Birmingham City, and signed for Wigan Athletic in 2014 after a brief loan spell.
