Empty Eyes (1953 Film)
''Il sole negli occhi'' (internationally released as ''Empty Eyes'') is a 1953 Italian drama film directed by Antonio Pietrangeli. It stars Gabriele Ferzetti. Plot Celestina, a young country girl from Castelluccio di Norcia, naive, inexperienced, ignorant, after having lost both parents goes to Rome to work as a maid at the house of a middle-class couple who are moving to a newly built neighborhood. Here she makes the acquaintance of Fernando, a plumber who courts her insistently. Sometime after her, her brothers visit her to tell her that they have sold her house and that they are emigrating to Australia in search of work. Celestina finds herself completely alone in a world unknown to her. She fired, she is hired by a retired couple where Fernando tracks her down, but she rejects him. Francesco Mulè
Francesco Mulè (3 December 1926 – 4 November 1984), was an Italian actor, voice actor and television and radio personality. He appeared in 74 films between 1953 and 1979. Born in Rome, the son of composer Giuseppe Mulè, he studied at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts and debuted in the stage company held by Renzo Ricci. He got a large popularity thanks to his radio and television appearances as a presenter and a comedian. He was also active as a character actor in films and on stage. Mulè was the Italian voice of Yogi Bear. Domenico "Mimmo" Palmara (25 July 1928 – 10 June 2016) was an Italian actor. Biography Born in Cagliari, Palmara made his film debut in 1952 as a character actor in drama films by eminent directors such as Luchino Visconti, Mario Monicelli and Antonio Pietrangeli, then obtained main roles in a great number of genre films, especially adventure films and peplum films. When the sword and sandals genre declined, he took part at a number of Spaghetti Westerns in which he is usually credited as Dick Palmer. A close friend of Sergio Leone, he was Leone's first choice for the role of Ramon in ''A Fistful of Dollars''; Palmara eventually chose to star in Mario Caiano's '' Bullets Don't Argue'' and the role of Ramon was played by Gian Maria Volonté. Lia Di Leo
Lia Anna Di Leo (22 July 1923 – 15 December 2006) was an Italian actress and model. She entered the 1951 Miss Italy contest and then began acting in films, generally playing glamorous supporting roles. Di Leo's parents died while she was very young, and as a result she raised her two younger twin brothers, Marion and Tony. After marrying in 1957 she retired from the screen and moved to the United States, where she worked as a sculptor. She died in Palm Springs, California on 15 December 2006, at the age of 83.
