Emporium (Bangkok)
Emporium is a luxury shopping mall in Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. It opened in 1997. It is owned and operated by The Mall Group, who also operate the EmQuartier and Siam Paragon malls in Bangkok. It is on Sukhumvit Road at Sukhumvit Soi 24 beside Benchasiri Park. It is connected directly to the Phrom Phong BTS Station, Phrom Phong Station on the Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain by a footbridge. Emporium is a major component of the "EM District" and contains a shopping mall, department store, a luxury cinema "Emprivé Cineclub by SF Corporation", a high-end supermarket, food court, office building, exhibition hall, children's play centres and a hotel. Sukhumvit Road
Sukhumvit Road ( th, ถนนสุขุมวิท, , ), or Highway 3 ( th, ทางหลวงแผ่นดินหมายเลข 3), is a major road in Thailand, and a major surface road of Bangkok and other cities. It follows a coastal route from Bangkok to Khlong Yai District, Trat border to Koh Kong, Cambodia. Sukhumvit Road is named after the fifth chief of the Department of Highways, Phra Bisal Sukhumvit. Khlong Toei (also Klong Toey, th, คลองเตย, ) is a district in central Bangkok, long known for its slum. It is bordered by the Chao Phraya River and contains major port facilities. It is also the site of a major market, the Khlong Toei Market. In economics, a luxury good (or upmarket good) is a good for which demand increases more than what is proportional as income rises, so that expenditures on the good become a greater proportion of overall spending. BTS Skytrain
The Bangkok Mass Transit System, commonly known as the BTS Skytrain ( th, รถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส '' TS'), is an elevated rapid transit system in Bangkok, Thailand. It is operated by Bangkok Mass Transit System PCL (BTSC), a subsidiary of BTS Group Holdings, under a concession granted by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) which owns the lines. Sukhumvit Line
The Sukhumvit line ( th, รถไฟฟ้า สายสุขุมวิท) or Light Green line, is an elevated metro rail line of the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok, Thailand. Benchasiri Park
Benchasiri Park ( th, สวนเบญจสิริ, , ; "Park Commemorating the Fifth Cycle Birthday Anniversary") is a garden located on Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Toei District, Bangkok, Thailand. Built on next door to the Emporium and Emsphere shopping complex, it serves to commemorate the fifth cycle (sixtieth) birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit on 12 August 1992. Construction began in 1990 on land which originally housed the Bangkok Meteorological Department until its relocation to Bang Na. Siam Paragon ( th, สยามพารากอน) is a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. It is one of the largest malls in Thailand, along with IconSiam, CentralWorld and CentralPlaza WestGate. Siam Paragon includes a range of specialty stores and restaurants as well as a multiplex (15 large screen cinemas), the Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World aquarium, an exhibition hall, the Thai Art Gallery, and an opera concert hall. EmQuartier
The EmQuartier is a large shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand opened in May 2015. It is one of three malls planned for the "EM District", along with the existing Emporium, and the EmSphere. All three buildings will total an area of 2,500,000 square feet of mixed use retail space and are located on a 50-rai plot of land adjacent to Benchasiri Park. The mall is operated by The Mall Group. Designed by the architecture firm Leeser Architecture, the building features a 30-ft open air garden on the fifth floor, six stories of dining terraces sitting atop a helical floor slab, an eight theater cinema complex including an Imax theater as well as a pedestrian street and five-story waterfall, as well as two stories of underground parking.
