Empire Bay, New South Wales
Empire Bay is a suburb on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the local government area. Empire Bay was originally known as ''Sorrento'' being the name of a large boarding house in the locality. The land was subdivided in 1905. The name changed to Empire Bay in 1908 when a Postal Receiving Office was opened in a building attached to the boarding house. The name was changed because there was already a post office named Sorrento in Victoria and Empire Bay was chosen because there was no other such name in the Commonwealth. The name was officially changed on 24 May 1908. William Huggart who owned ''Sorrento House'' was the first postmaster. In 1909 the status of the office was changed to Post Office. Central Coast (New South Wales)
The Central Coast is a peri-urban region in New South Wales, Australia, lying on the Tasman Sea coast to the north of Sydney and south of Newcastle. The local government area of the Central Coast Council has an estimated population of 333,627 as of June 2018, growing by 1% annually. Comprising localities such as Gosford, Wyong and Terrigal, the area is the third-largest urban area in New South Wales and the ninth-largest urban area in Australia. Geographically, the Central Coast is generally considered to include the region bounded by the Hawkesbury River in the south, the Watagan Mountains in the west and the southern end of Lake Macquarie, lying on the Sydney basin. Saratoga, New South Wales
Saratoga is a residential south-eastern village and suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located on a peninsula of Brisbane Water and part of the local government area. The suburb is characterised by its largely settled shoreline, with houses extending up coastal slopes to the base of the tall hills that comprise the core of the peninsula. The village of Saratoga occupies the central portion of its peninsula, bordered towards the point by Davistown and toward the mainland by Yattalunga. Initially utilised by indigenous peoples, the area of Saratoga was first exploited by European settlers for citrus orchards, after John Bourke and his family settled in the area in 1863. Central Coast Ferries is an Australian ferry operator on the Central Coast of New South Wales. History Central Coast Ferries was established in 1991 by the Conway family as a ferry operator on Brisbane Water. Erina Fair is a large shopping centre located in the suburb of Erina on the Central Coast. Transport Erina Fair has bus connections to The Entrance, The Entrance North, Ettalong Beach, Gosford, Matcham, North Avoca, Saratoga, Terrigal, Woy Woy and Wyong, as wells as local surrounding suburbs. Kincumber is a south-eastern suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, nested between the Kincumba Mountain Reserve and the Kincumber Broadwater and located north of Sydney via the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway (F3). Ettalong Beach
Ettalong Beach is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia south of Woy Woy on Brisbane Water at the point where it meets Broken Bay, about 80 km north of Sydney. Woy Woy Railway Station
Woy Woy railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the southern Central Coast suburb of Woy Woy opening on 1 February 1889. Platforms and services Woy Woy has one island platform with two faces. It is serviced by NSW TrainLink Central Coast & Newcastle Line services travelling from Sydney Central to Newcastle. Peak-hour services travel from Central to Wyong via the North Shore line. There are two crossovers south of the station, allowing trains to terminate in an emergency. They cannot be used for regular working as they are manually operated by levers next to the tracks and there are no signals to permit any movements over the points.
