Emmett Smith (curling)
Emmitt James Smith III (born May 15, 1969) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons, primarily with the Dallas Cowboys. Among other accolades, he is the List of National Football League career rushing yards leaders, league's all-time leading rusher. Smith grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and became the second-leading rusher in American high school football history while playing for Escambia High School. Smith played three years of college football for the Florida Gators football, Florida Gators, where he set numerous school rushing records. After being named a unanimous College Football All-America Team, All-American in 1989 Florida Gators football team, 1989, Smith chose to forgo his senior year of eligibility and play professionally. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation.
