Emmanuel Kembe
Emmanuel Kembe (born January 9, 1969) is a South Sudanese reggae musician. Biography Emmanuel Mark Kembe was born in Wau, Western Bahr el-Ghazal, New Sudan, in the present Republic of South Sudan. Kembe lived in exile between 1994 and 2005. ''Shen Shen'' was his first album. Music career Born a singer songwriter singing mostly in English, his Pop-Reggae features, musician through his inspirational reggae music, Kembe has gained fame through the various works he has done by his music career. He founded Kembe Music International in 2010. Contributions Kembe has performed songs about patriotism, peace and the reconstruction of the country and as a peace activist, he has majored in the cultural as well as diverse issues affecting the Country of South Sudan. Demographics Of South Sudan
South Sudan is home to around 60 indigenous ethnic groups and 80 linguistic partitions among a population of around million. Historically, most ethnic groups were lacking in formal Western political institutions, with land held by the community and elders acting as problem solvers and adjudicators. Today, most ethnic groups still embrace a ''cattle culture'' in which livestock is the main measure of wealth and used for bride wealth. The majority of the ethnic groups in South Sudan are of African heritage who practice either Christianity or syncretisms of Christian and Traditional African religion. United Nations Mission In South Sudan
The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) is a United Nations peacekeeping mission for South Sudan, which became independent on 9 July 2011. UNMISS was established on 8 July 2011 by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1996 (2011). Since December 2016, UNMISS has been led by the Secretary-General's Special Representative, South African lawyer and diplomat Nicholas Haysom. Haysom succeeded David Shearer in January 2021. , it is composed of 14,222 military personnel, 1,446 police, and 2,228 civilian workers, as well as small contingents of experts, staff officers, and volunteers.
