Emma Daumas
Manuelle "Emma" Daumas (born 23 November 1983, in Avignon) is a French singer-songwriter and performer, particularly well known for her participation in ''Star Academy''. Career Daumas grew up in a family of music lovers. Her passion for music led her to write several songs by the age of 12. Her parents then allowed her to record her first song ''Stupid boy''. After the piano, she took lessons in guitar, and enrolled at the academy of ''Villeuneuve-lès-Avignon'' at the age of 15. She frequently entered contests, in particular ''Mon Dieu'' of Édith Piaf. She came in 8th in the Laudun song contest playing one of her own compositions, ''Dis-moi pourquoi'' ("Tell me why"). From this point on, her potential not only as a singer but as a songwriter started to become noticed. ''Star Academy'', called ''Operación Triunfo'' ("Operation Triumph") in Spanish-speaking countries, is a highly successful television pop music talent contest with viewer voting and reality show elements. Format There are many versions of the ''Star Academy'' or ''Operación Triunfo'' show, each country having its own slight variations, but the basic concept remains the same: contestants live in a boarding-school called "The Academy", managed by a director, and various teachers coach them in several artistic disciplines. Eskobar is the name of a Swedish Northie(Northern Indie)/indie/pop band that was founded in 1996 some 30 kilometres north of Stockholm, in the small town of Åkersberga. The band features Daniel Bellqvist as its lead singer, Frederik Zäll on guitars, and Jocke Brunnberg on drums. History Formation ''Eskobar'' has its roots in the early 1990s when Daniel Bellqvist left his band to join Frederik Zäll’s band called ''FOF'' (an acronym for "Fish Or Fantasy?") in 1994. The two musicians had previously met in their high school band class. In their incarnation as ''FOF'', Daniel played bass while Frederik played guitar, and since Grunge was the popular musical style of the time, the band settled on this genre as their signature style. ''Underneath'' is the third album by American pop rock group Hanson. It was released in 2004 by 3CG Records. It is the band's first release on their own independent record label. The making of the album was the main subject in Hanson's documentary film, '' Strong Enough to Break'', that follows the band during the recording process and the struggles they faced to release it. Hanson is an American Pop music, pop band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007. It was written mainly by Isaac Hanson while attending Miles Copeland's annual "songwriting bootcamp" at Château de Marouatte in France in May 2001. Daumas was chosen to collaborate with Hanson for this song.
