Emma-Sofie Nordström
Emma-Sofie Mohrsen Nordström (born 5 November 2002) is a Swedish-Danish ice hockey goaltender and member of the Danish national ice hockey team, currently playing with Linköping HC Dam of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). She is a commit to the St. Lawrence Saints women's ice hockey program of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Nordström represented Denmark at the IIHF Women's World Championship Division I Group A tournament in 2018 and at the Top Division tournament in 2021. As a junior player with the Danish national under-18 team, she participated in the IIHF Women's U18 World Championship Division I Group B tournaments in 2017 and 2018, and in the Division I Group A tournaments in 2019 and 2020. The Denmark women's national under–18 ice hockey team is the national under-18 ice hockey team of Denmark. The team represents Denmark at the International Ice Hockey Federation's U18 Women's World Championship and other international under-18 tournaments and events. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). Amalie Andersen
Amalie Andersen (born 6 October 1999) is a Danish ice hockey player and member of the Danish national team, currently playing in the Swedish Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL) with Rögle BK. Playing career Andersen's college ice hockey career was played with the Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey program in the Hockey East (WHEA) conference of the NCAA Division I during 2019 to 2023. She became the first Danish player to sign in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) when she accepted a contract with the Buffalo Beauts in early June 2023. The PHF was bought out and dissolved on 29 June 2023 and Andersen's contract was voided before she was able to play in the league. Frederik Andersen
Frederik "Freddie" Andersen (born 2 October 1989) is a Danish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs. Andersen was a member of Denmark's national team that competed at the 2010 IIHF World Championship. He was selected by the Hurricanes in the seventh round, 187th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. IIHF World Championship Division I
The IIHF World Championship Division I is an annual sports event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The divisional championship is played in two groups. History From 2001 until 2011 the two national teams that lost the relegation round at the IIHF World Championship were relegated to Division I for the following year's World Championships.
