Emily Lee
Emily Lee (born October 4, 2002 in San Jose, California, San Jose) is an American artistic gymnast. She is currently a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team, United States national team, and she is the 2021 Winter Cup all-around bronze medalist and floor exercise silver medalist. She is also the 2020 L'International Gymnix all-around champion. Personal life Emily Lee was born on October 4, 2002, in San Jose, California to Tina and Calvin Lee. She is the middle of five children; her younger sister Taylor died of Leukemia in 2015. She began gymnastics when she was eight years old. She signed her National Letter of Intent for the UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics, UCLA Bruins gymnastics team, and she will join in the 2022 season. MyKayla Brooke Skinner Harmer (born December 9, 1996) is an American former artistic gymnast. She was the 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. Skinner competed at the 2014 World Championships where she contributed to the U.S. team's gold medal, also winning an individual bronze medal on vault. Gymnastics Floor
In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it. Gymnastics Balance Beam
The balance beam is a rectangular artistic gymnastics apparatus and an event performed using the apparatus. Both the apparatus and the event are sometimes simply referred to as "beam". The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is BB. The beam is a small, thin beam which is typically raised from the floor on a leg or stand at both ends. Achilles Tendon Rupture
Achilles tendon rupture is when the Achilles tendon, at the back of the ankle, breaks. Symptoms include the sudden onset of sharp pain in the heel. A snapping sound may be heard as the tendon breaks and walking becomes difficult. Rupture typically occurs as a result of a sudden bending up of the foot when the calf muscle is engaged, direct trauma, or long-standing tendonitis. Other risk factors include the use of fluoroquinolones, a significant change in exercise, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or corticosteroid use. Diagnosis is typically based on symptoms and examination and supported by medical imaging. Prevention may include stretching before activity and gradual progression of exercise intensity.
