Emily Bastel
Emily Bastel Glaser (born August 6, 1980), née Emily Bastel, is an American college golf coach and a former professional golfer. She played on the Futures Tour and LPGA Tour and is currently the head coach of the Florida Gators women's golf team of the University of Florida. Early life Bastel was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. The Bastel family had owned and operated a golf course since the 1930s, and her father worked as the resident pro and the course superintendent. She attended Upper Sandusky High School, where she was a three-time all-state selection for the Upper Sandusky Rams girls' golf team. She graduated from Upper Sandusky in 1998. College and amateur career Bastel received an athletic scholarship to attend Michigan State University, and played for the Michigan State Spartans women's golf team from 1998 to 2002. It has been Canada's national championship tournament since its founding in 1973, and is an official event on the LPGA Tour. 2007 Duramed Futures Tour
The 2007 Duramed Futures Tour was a series of professional women's golf tournaments held from March through September 2007 in the United States. The Futures Tour is the second-tier women's professional golf tour in the United States and is the "official developmental tour" of the LPGA Tour. On July 18, 2007, the LPGA announced that it had acquired the Futures Tour effective immediately, "bringing women's professional golf now under one umbrella." Previously the Futures Tour had operated as a licensee of the LPGA. NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships
The NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship, played in the month of May, is the annual competition in women's collegiate golf for individuals and teams from universities in Division I. Golf was one of twelve women's sports added to the NCAA championship program for the 1981-82 school year. From its inception through 2014, it was a stroke play team competition with an additional individual award. Beginning in 2015, after 72 holes of stroke play, the top eight teams play in single-elimination match play to determine the team champion. Many individual winners have gone on to have successful careers on the LPGA Tour, including 1991 champion Annika Sörenstam and 1999 champion Grace Park. The Division I competition started in 1982. (UAA) is a non-profit corporation that is responsible for maintaining the Florida Gators intercollegiate sports program of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. 2008 LPGA Championship
The 2008 LPGA Championship was the 54th LPGA Championship, played June 5–8 at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland. This was the second of four major championships on the LPGA Tour in 2008. The champion was tour rookie Yani Tseng, age 19, with a playoff victory over Maria Hjorth. The two finished regulation play at 276 (−12), one stroke ahead of Annika Sörenstam and Lorena Ochoa. Tseng birdied the fourth extra hole for her first career win on the LPGA Tour and became the first rookie to win a major in a decade. The LPGA Corning Classic was an annual golf tournament for professional female golfers on the LPGA Tour.
