Emilio Ochoa
Emilio Ochoa (born Emilio Ochoa y Ochoa; July 4, 1907 – June 27, 2007) was a Cuban dentist and politician. Believed to be the last living signatory of Cuba's 1940 Constitution, he served as Senator (1940–1948) and became part of the opposition against both Fulgencio Batista and Fidel Castro, ultimately going into exile in the 1960s. Biography Dr. Ochoa was one of seven children in a poor family. He studied dentistry in Havana and graduated in 1937. During this time he became involved in politics and was one of the delegates of the Partido Auténtico to the constitutional convention which wrote the Cuban Constitution of 1940. Dr. Ochoa helped found two political parties: the Partido Autentico in 1934 and the Partido Ortodoxo in 1947. Ochoa was first elected as a Senator in 1940 and served in that office until 1948. Holguín
Holguín () is a municipality and city in Cuba, and the capital of Province of Holguín. After Havana, Santiago de Cuba, and Camagüey, it is the fourth largest city in Cuba. History Before Columbus, the Taino people settled in huts made from royal palm in the Holguin area later urbanized by the Spanish; their artifacts are shown at the local Holguin La Periquera museum. The settlement was founded in 1523 on land donated by Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar to Captain Francisco García Holguín, a Spanish military officer. Holguin added his maternal surname to the name of the town, giving it the name San Isidoro de Holguín. Prior to 1976, Holguín was located in the province of Oriente. Cardiac arrest is when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. It is a medical emergency that, without immediate medical intervention, will result in sudden cardiac death within minutes. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and possibly defibrillation are needed until further treatment can be provided. Cardiac arrest results in a rapid loss of consciousness, and breathing may be abnormal or absent. While cardiac arrest may be caused by heart attack or heart failure, these are not the same, and in 15 to 25% of cases, there is a non-cardiac cause. Some individuals may experience chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea, an elevated heart rate, and a light-headed feeling immediately before entering cardiac arrest.
