Emilio Arenales Catalán
Emilio Arenales Catalán (May 10, 1922 – April 17, 1969) was the foreign minister of Guatemala from 1966 to 1969 and the president of the United Nations Twenty-Third General Assembly from 1968 to 1969. He was born and died in Guatemala City. Biography Arenales was born in Guatemala City. He held the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Letters from the ''Instituto Modelo'' in Guatemala City (1932–1949) and Juridical Science from the ''Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala'' (1940–1945). Arenales was married in 1946 to the former Lucy Dorion Cabarrus. They had four children: Rodrigo Arenales Dorion (1947–2002), Álvaro Arenales Dorion (b. 1949), María de la Luz Arenales de Aycinena (b. 1950) and María de los Ángeles Arenales de Willemsen (b. 1953). Angie Elizabeth Brooks (August 24, 1928 – September 9, 2007) was a Liberian diplomat and jurist. She was the only African female President of the United Nations General Assembly. She was also the second woman from any nation to head the U.N. body. In 1969, she was chosen as the President of the General Assembly and took office in 1970. In 1974, she became Liberia's United Nations Permanent Representative, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, where much of her work involved the transformation of former colonial states into independent countries. Corneliu Mănescu (8 February 1916 – 26 June 2000) was a Romanian diplomat born in Ploiești. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania from 1961 to 1972 and as President of the United Nations General Assembly from 19 September 1967 to 23 September 1968.
