Emiliano González Navero
Emiliano González Navero (16 June 1861 – 18 October 1934) was a Paraguayan politician of the Liberal Party, he served as President of Paraguay on three occasions and as Vice President of Paraguay on two occasions. His life He was one of the great survivors of the War against Triple Alliance. He attended elementary school at his beloved hometown and high school at the Colegio Nacional de la Capital. He was graduated from Law School at the Universidad Nacional de la Capital. Practiced law in 1887 and then acted in the judicial branch as a judge during the government of Juan Antonio Escurra. He was married to Mrs. Adela Lima, who died on 7 September 1928. Emiliano, retired from any public activity, died at home, very far away from his country, in the United States on 18 October 1934. José Patricio Guggiari
José Patricio Guggiari Corniglione (17 March 1884, in Asunción – 30 October 1957, in Buenos Aires) was a Paraguayan politician by the Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico. He was President of the Republic of Paraguay between 1928 and 1932. In 1931, after a bloody repression against a demonstration calling for a more vigorous action in defense of the Chaco, he left office to be judged by Parliament. Absolved, he regained the presidency. Manuel Franco
Manuel Franco (July 9, 1871 – June 5, 1919) was President of Paraguay from August 15, 1916, to June 5, 1919. Childhood and Youth Doctor Manuel Franco was born in Concepción on June 9, 1871, in times of the government of Cirilo Antonio Rivarola. Manuel was son of Josefa Antonio Franco and was baptized in the Church of Concepción by Father Evaristo Serrano. He never married but during his life fathered four children: Evaristo, Fernando, María Ana and Manuel Franco Jr. After concluding his elementary studies, the young Manuel, accompanied by his aunt Trifona Franco de Isnardi, traveled to Asunción to continue his studies. Cecilio Báez
Cecilio Báez González (January 1, 1862 – June 18, 1941) was provisional President of Paraguay from December 8, 1905 to November 25, 1906. He was a member of the Liberal Party. Early life and career Dr. Cecilio Báez González was born in Asunción, capital of Paraguay on February 1, 1862. His parents were Nicholas Báez and Faustina González. His brothers were Otoniel, Benjamin, Modesta and Restituta Báez González. He was married for 25 years to Marcelina Allende of Caazapa, daughter of Polycarpo Allende and Rosario Monges. They had 14 children, including Amadeo Báez Allende, Arminda Báez Allende, and Nicolas Báez Allende. He studied at National College of the Capital in 1878. After a year, he served as an intern at Santa Rosa for the monthly sum of 25 patacones. Guillermo Galindo
Guillermo Galindo is a Mexican composer, performer, and artist. Early life Composer Guillermo Galindo was born in Mexico City. As a young adult, he was trained in musical composition at the Escuela Nacional de Musica in Mexico City, while completing a BA in graphic design. He then attended Berklee College of Music where he completed a film scoring and composition BA and Mills College in Oakland, California, where he received an MA in composition and electronic music. Juan Silvano Godoi (November 12, 1850 – January 1926) was a librarian and intellectual at the time of the Paraguayan national reconstruction. Childhood and studies He was born in Asuncion on November 12, 1850. He was the son of the Colonel Juan Vicente Godoy and Petrona Echagüe. Narciso Echagüe y Andía, his mother’s father, was one of the leaders of the national independence. He was imprisoned during Francia’s dictatorship, and shot after twenty years in jail. Juan Silvano studied in the Jesuit College of the Inmaculate Conception in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. There, he was condisciple of José Zorrilla de San Martín. In the holydays of 1864, he spent some time in Asunción. Due to his short age and good luck, Francisco Solano López authorized him to continue his education in Argentina.
