Emile Degelin
Emile Degelin (16 July 1926 – 20 May 2017) was a Belgian film director and novelist, the director of ''If the Wind Frightens You'' His 1963 film ''Life and Death in Flanders'' was entered into the 13th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1969 film ''Palaver (1969 film), Palaver'' was entered into the 6th Moscow International Film Festival. His final film, ''De ooggetuige'', won the audience prize at the Flanders International Film Festival Ghent, Ghent Film Festival in 1995. He is seen as one of the pioneers and founders of the Belgian film. Degelin died on 20 May 2017 at his home in Kessel-Lo, a borough of Leuven, Belgium. Diest
Diest () is a city and municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. Situated in the northeast of the Hageland region, Diest neighbours the provinces of Antwerp to its North, and Limburg to the East and is situated around 60 km from Brussels. The municipality comprises the city of Diest proper and the towns of Deurne, Kaggevinne, Molenstede, Schaffen and Webbekom. As of January 1, 2006, Diest had a total population of 22,845. Kessel-Lo
Kessel-Lo (population 26,000) is a town in Belgium. It is a borough of Leuven, situated to the east and north of Leuven proper. Kessel-Lo is bordered by Holsbeek, Lubbeek, and several other sub-municipalities that are part of Leuven (Leuven municipality comprises the historic sub-municipalities of Heverlee, Wilsele, Wijgmaal, Leuven proper and Kessel-Lo). Film Fest Ghent, spelt Film Fest Gent in Flemish and also known as International Film Fest Gent, is an annual international film festival in Ghent, Belgium. The festival held its first edition in 1974, under the name Internationaal Filmgebeuren Gent, and has since grown into the largest film festival in Belgium. The festival also puts the spotlight on film music; since 2001, Film Fest Ghent has hosted the World Soundtrack Awards, a series of prizes for the best soundtracks for film and television.
