Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (french: Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec; abbreviated ''QMJHL'' in English, ''LHJMQ'' in French) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league includes teams in the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The current president of the QMJHL is Gilles Courteau. The President's Cup is the championship trophy of the league. The QMJHL champion then goes on to compete in the Memorial Cup against the OHL and WHL champions, and the CHL host team. Saint John Sea Dogs
The Saint John Sea Dogs are a major junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The team was founded as an expansion team in 2005 and play at TD Station in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The Sea Dogs became the first team from Atlantic Canada to win a Memorial Cup championship, with a 2011 Memorial Cup victory. In June 2022, the Sea Dogs won the 2022 Memorial Cup. The team has also won three President's Cup championships in 2011, 2012 and 2017. Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc
Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc (born July 30, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for HC Ajoie of the National League (NL). Playing career Gauthier-Leduc was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (68th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In the 2015–16 season, after 57 games with the Sabres AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans he was traded to the Ottawa Senators as part of a seven-player deal on February 27, 2016. He was directly assigned to AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators for the remainder of the year. As a free agent in the off-season, Leduc was unable to attract an NHL contract, and on August 27, 2016, he opted to sign a one-year contract abroad with Czech club, HC Dynamo Pardubice of the ELH. The 2011–12 QMJHL season was the 43rd season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season, which consisted of 17 teams playing 68 games each, began in September 2011 and ended in March 2012. This season was Blainville-Boisbriand Armada's first season in the league, as the team relocated to Boisbriand from Verdun where they played as the Montreal Junior Hockey Club from 2008 to 2011. Kevin Gagné
Kevin Gagné (born April 14, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently an unrestricted free agent, who most recently played with the Kölner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career Gagné was rated as a top prospect who played the majority of the 2012–13 season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Val-d'Or Foreurs
The Val-d'Or Foreurs are a junior ice hockey team based in Val-d'Or, in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, Canada. The team was founded for the 1993–94 season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, a member of the Canadian Hockey League. Former Quebec Nordiques and Trois-Rivières Draveurs star, Pierre Aubry was the team's first coach. The literal translation of Val-d'Or Foreurs is "Valley of Gold Drillers"; this name references the drilling operations associated with mining and exploration which are a major source of blue-collar work in the area. Guillaume Gélinas (born June 14, 1993) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He last played for UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Belfast Giants in Northern Ireland. Jan Košťálek (born 17 February 1995) is a Czech professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Košťálek was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the 4th round (114th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
