Emil Keup
Emil G. Keup (1869 – January 24, 1930) was an American politician and businessman. Born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Keup went to Byrant and Stratton Business College and was involved with the Mount Morris Insurance Company. He served as chairman of the Mount Morris, Wisconsin Town Board and on the Mount Morris School Board. Keup served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1907 and 1909 and was a Republican. He was also a supporter of United States Senator Robert M. La Follette, Sr. and Republican Progressive politics. Keup died in Wautoma, Wisconsin Wautoma is a city in Waushara County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,218 at the 2010 census. Wautoma is the county seat of Waushara County. Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Oshkosh is a city in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, of which it is the county seat. The city had a population of 66,816 in 2020, making it the ninth-largest city in Wisconsin. It is also adjacent to the Town of Oshkosh. History Oshkosh was named for Menominee Chief Oshkosh, whose name meant "claw" (cf. Ojibwe ''oshkanzh'', "the claw"). Although the fur trade attracted the first European settlers to the area as early as 1818, it never became a major player in the fur trade. The 1820s mining boom in southwest Wisconsin along with the opening of the Erie Canal shifted commercial activity away from the Fox River Valley and Green Bay. Wautoma, Wisconsin
Wautoma is a city in Waushara County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,218 at the 2010 census. Wautoma is the county seat of Waushara County. The city consists of three noncontiguous areas: one is entirely within the Town of Wautoma, the second is entirely within the Town of Dakota, and the third straddles the boundary between the two towns. Wautoma calls itself the "Christmas tree capital of the world". The Kirk Company of Tacoma, Washington, operated the "Wautoma plantation" of more than of Christmas trees, beginning in 1953.
