Emerald Moon Records (abbreviated as EMR) is an American Independent record label, founded by Matt Boylan in Baltimore, Maryland in August 2004, they worked with many bands up until shutting down on October 3, 2012. The label primarily focuses on genres such as alternative rock, indie rock, pop punk, metalcore, post-hardcore, mathcore, hardcore Punk, emo, and screamo. The label is known for having launched All Time Low, Fall River, Spark Is a Diamond, My America Is Watching Tigers Die, Emma, Lady Radiator, Morning for the Masses, Hometown Anthem, Girlfight, and The Jonbenét. History 2004-2005: Beginnings The label was founded by Matt Boylan in Baltimore, Maryland in August 2004. EMR was started for bands in the Baltimore area to gain exposure for their talent. ''Masters of Horror'' is an anthology television series created by director Mick Garris for the Showtime cable network. Origin In 2002, director Mick Garris invited some director friends to an informal dinner at a restaurant in Sherman Oaks, California. The original ten "masters" attending were John Carpenter, Larry Cohen, Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Guillermo del Toro, Stuart Gordon, Tobe Hooper, John Landis, Bill Malone, and Garris himself. John Blake (born 6 November 1948) is an English publisher and former journalist. ''John Blake Publishing'' was acquired by Bonnier Publishing in May 2016. Blake joined ''Soho Friday'', launched in November 2018, a venture with Richard Johnson and Derek Freeman. ''Ad Lib Publishing'' was launched in 2020. Early life Blake was born in Hitchin, one of four siblings, to a nurse and a soldier who fought in both world wars, ultimately becoming a major. The Jonbenét
The Jonbenét was an American noise rock band formed in Houston, Texas in summer 2003. The group was named after the murdered child JonBenét Ramsey, who was widely publicized during the mid to late nineties. The band played their first show as Jonbenét on August 22, 2003, and after several self-released EPs and tours in the US and Canada, the band caught the attention of Pluto Records, an independent record label from Texas. '' The Plot Thickens'' was released on Pluto Records (2005). It was a re-mastered compilation of material from their self-released EPs and split 7-inch releases. Girlfight (band)
Girlfight was an American hardcore punk band formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, April 2008. The group consists of: Vocalist Dave Watt, guitarist Jordan Bellotti, bassist Richie Lattanzi, and drummer Brandon Volkman. After the band's creation, they signed into Emerald Moon Records and released their debut EP ''Haggard'' (2008). Two years later they'll release their second EP ''Ghost Eater'' (2010) and soon their debut studio album '' Infinite Carcass'' (2010). Girlfight then release their third EP ''Defamate'' (2011) and were dropped from Emerald Moon Records in late 2011. The band signed into Mayfly Records and released their fourth EP ''Real Spite'' (2012). The band officially disbanded in April 2013. Hometown Anthem was an American alternative rock band originally formed in Essex County, New Jersey, sometime in September 2002. The group consisted of 6 members: lead vocalist Joseph Crawford, lead guitarist Dominick Gaglio, Keyboardist David Rodrigues, back guitarist Stephen Dufresne, bassist Joel Cuozzo Gonzalez, and drummer Joseph Static Hughes. My America Is Watching Tigers Die was an American noise rock band formed in Newark, Delaware, 2002. The group consists of: vocalist David Rushman, guitarist Matthew Turner, bassist Brian Miller, and drummer Andrew Rapp. They were influenced by Deadguy, Knut, The Jesus Lizard, Botch, and Coalesce. The band toured with acts such as: Coliseum, Sannhet, Keelhaul, KEN Mode, Rosetta, Engineer, North, Bezoar, Thera Roya, All Time Low, and Pharaoh to name a few. Spark Is a Diamond was an American hardcore punk band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in summer of 2006. It combined punk and hardcore with heavy dance beats and alternating female/male vocals. The group originally consisted of three members: vocalist Alison Bellavance, guitarist/vocalist Matt Boylan, and drummer Matt Hall. Hall left the band in 2007 and was soon replaced by Joseph Crawford. The band features former members from bands such Fall River and Morning For The Masses.
