Eléonor Sana
Eléonor Sana (born 1 July 1997) is a Belgian visually impaired alpine skier. Sana won a bronze medal in the women's visually impaired downhill event during the 2018 Winter Paralympics, her first Paralympic medal after competing in her maiden Paralympic event. Sana was the flagbearer for Belgium at the 2018 Winter Paralympics during the opening ceremony. Woluwe
The Woluwe (; ) is a stream that goes through several municipalities in the southeast and east of Brussels and is a right tributary of the Senne/Zenne (in Vilvoorde). The Kleine Maalbeek is a tributary of the Woluwe (in Kraainem). Many ponds formed along the stream over time, among which the Mellaerts Ponds still exist. The valley of the Woluwe crosses the municipalities of Auderghem, Watermael-Boitsfort, Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Kraainem, Zaventem, Machelen and Vilvoorde. The towns of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Sint-Stevens-Woluwe derive their name from it. A sighted guide is a person who guides a person with blindness or vision impairment. Sports Paralympic Games At the Paralympic Games there are various classifications of athletes with a visual impairment. Rules are according to the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The sighted guides are such a close and essential part of the competition, that the athlete with a visual impairment and the guide are considered a team, and both athletes are medal candidates. Winter At the Winter Paralympics there are three classifications of athletes with a visual impairment: * B1 (no useful vision) * B2 (minimal useful vision) * B3 (some useful vision). A sighted guide is required for B1 and B2, and optional for B3. Nordic skiing: The guide can lead, follow, or ski next to the athlete with a visual impairment.
