Elvira Öberg
Elvira Karin Öberg (born 26 February 1999) is a Swedish Biathlon, biathlete. She is the younger sister of Olympic champion Hanna Öberg. Elvira won three gold medals in the youth category at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2018, 2018 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Otepää; in the 10 km Biathlon#Individual, individual, the 3 × 6 km Biathlon#Relay, relay and the 6 km Biathlon#Sprint, sprint respectively. Öberg placed twelfth in the sprint in her Biathlon World Cup debut in Östersund, 1 December 2019. At the Olympic Games in Biathlon at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Beijing in 2022 she won the silver medal in the sprint race, following up with a silver in the pursuit. Oberhof, Germany
Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia, Germany. Located in the Thuringian Forest mountain range, it is a winter sports center and health resort. With 1,625 inhabitants (December 2016), it is visited by 144,000 tourists every year (2016). The town obtained its official city status in 1985. History Oberhof was first mentioned in a document in 1470. The village in the Black Forest department belonged to various Ernestine duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha from 1826 to 1918. The Biathlon World Championships 2021 took place in Pokljuka, Slovenia, from 9 to 21 February 2021. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Tyumen won the voting (25 votes) during the 12th IBU Congress in Chisinau in Moldova over Pokljuka in Slovenia (13 votes) and Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic (11 votes). The International Biathlon Union (IBU; german: Internationale Biathlon-Union) is the international governing body of biathlon. Östersund (; sma, Staare) is an urban area (city) in Jämtland in the middle of Sweden. It is the seat of Östersund Municipality and the capital of Jämtland County. Östersund is located at the shores of Sweden's fifth-largest lake, Storsjön, opposite the island Frösön. It is the only city in Jämtland. The Biathlon World Cup is a top-level biathlon season-long competition series. It has been held since the winter seasons of 1977–78 Biathlon World Cup, 1977–78 for men and 1982–83 Biathlon World Cup, 1982–83 for women. The women's seasons until 1986–87 Biathlon World Cup, 1986–87 season were called the European Cup, although participation was not restricted to Europeans. Competition and format The World Cup season lasts from November or December to late March, with meetings in a different venue every week excluding some holidays and a couple of weeks before the season's major championships (World Championships or Winter Olympics). Otepää
Otepää (formerly Nuustaku) is a town in Valga County, southern Estonia, it is the administrative centre of Otepää Parish. Otepää is a popular skiing resort, popularly known as the "winter capital" of Estonia (in contrast to the "summer capital" Pärnu). Hanna Öberg
Hanna Öberg (born 2 November 1995) is a Swedish biathlete. Career In 2017 she won the IBU Female Rookie of the Year Award for her World Cup debut season, with the male counterpart being awarded to her fellow Swede Sebastian Samuelsson. At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics she won a surprising gold in the Individual, after four clean shootings. It was both the first victory and podium of her career, with her previous best being a fifth place in the world cup. She also claimed silver in the Relay, finished seventh in sprint, and fifth in both the mass start and the pursuit. Öberg repeated her Olympic success at the 2019 Biathlon World Championships on home snow in Östersund, where she again won the individual with a perfect shoot, having previously finished fourth in the sprint and fifth in the pursuit.
