Career In 2021, Elvira Kamaloğlu won a bronze medal in the women's 57 kg event at the 2021 World Junior Wrestling Championships in Russia. Elvira Kamaloğlu won the gold medal in the women's 57kg at the European Under-23 Wrestling Championships in Bulgaria. Elvira beat Spain's Maria Victoria Baez Dilone, Poland's Patrycja Gil, Bulgaria's Sezen Behcetova Belberova, and finally, Hungary's Tamara Dollak to win gold the women's 57kg at the European Under-23 Wrestling Championships in Plovdiv. Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. The 2022 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held between 10 and 18 September 2022 in Belgrade, Serbia. The UWW Bureau approved the candidature of Belgrade, Serbia as the host of the 2023 Senior World Championships. However, due to the restrictions on Russia for hosting World Championships in 2021–2022, Belgrade replaced the former city of Krasnoyarsk as the World Championships host for 2022.
