Elmore, Alabama
Elmore is a town in Elmore County, Alabama, United States. Although initially incorporated in 1906, it lapsed and was not reincorporated again until 1997. At the 2010 census the population was 1,262, up from 199 in 2000. It is part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Elmore is located in western Elmore County at (32.542314, -86.315455). It is bordered to the west by Millbrook and to the south by Coosada. Alabama State Route 14 passes through the town, leading east to Wetumpka and west to Prattville. Montgomery, the state capital, is to the south via Cook Road and Coosada Parkway. Elmore is an unincorporated community in the town of Ashford, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. Elmore Court
Elmore Court is a grade II* listed mansion, located at Elmore in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire, England. The original building dates from between 1564 and 1588. History The house has been the family seat of the Guise Baronets for nearly 800 years, first granted by John of Burgh, who was part of the court of Henry III with the rent set at "One clove of Gillyflower" each year. The current house was built between 1564 and 1588 and altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Guise Mausoleum, built in 1733, is in the churchyard of St John the Baptist, the local church. The Guise family were non-resident from about 1685 to about 1845, when Sir John Wright Guise took up residence. The house was used as a school from 1778, originally under the Revd. Charles Bishop (died 1788), and later under the Carveth family to about 1830. Its most distinguished pupil was the future surgeon William Lawrence FRS. Lake Elmore
Lake Elmore is a lake located in and named after Elmore, Vermont. The lake is located northwest of Elmore, and it drains into the Lamoille River through Elmore Pond Brook at the northern end. Recently, the lake has had a problem with milfoil, and there are several fundraisers every year to help the Milfoil Foundation, which then uses the money to pay for the milfoil's extraction. The park had its beginning in 1936 when the town of Elmore and local citizens made a gift of 30 acres on Lake Elmore to the state of Vermont. With modest means, a picnic and beach area were created. Elmore County is a county located in the east central portion of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 87,977. Its county seat is Wetumpka. Its name is in honor of General John A. Elmore. Elmore County is part of the Montgomery, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Elmore is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. It was granted by the Vermont Republic in 1780, and was named for Colonel Samuel Elmore (1720–1805), one of the original grantees. Elmore City is a town in Garvin County, Oklahoma, United States. This town is fifty-eight miles south of Oklahoma City. The population was 697 at the 2010 census. It was named after J. O. Elmore.
