Elman Guttormson
Elman Kreisler Guttormson (March 24, 1929 in Lundar, Manitoba – October 10, 2000) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1956 to 1969. The son of John Guttormson and Sigridur Johnson, Guttormson was educated at Lundar and United College. He worked for the ''Winnipeg Free Press'' newspaper as a reporter, covering fields as diverse as crime and horse racing. He won a national newspaper award in 1962, while serving as a member of the legislature. In 1952, he married Hildur Thorsteinson. He was first elected to the legislature in a by-election on December 30, 1956 in the mid-northern constituency of St. George, defeating his Progressive Conservative and CCF opponents by a comfortable margin. He served as a backbench supporter of Douglas Campbell's government for the next year and a half. Elman Mammadov ( az, Elman Məmmədov; born October 18, 1950) is an Azerbaijani politician who serves as the Member of National Assembly of Azerbaijan from 124th ''Shusha- Fizuli- Khojali- Khojavend'' district. He's a veteran of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Early life Mammadov was born on October 18, 1950, in Khojaly, Azerbaijan. He graduated from the Mathematics Department of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Academy of Public Administration. Elman Rustamov ( az, Elman Rüstəmov) is an Azerbaijani politician. He was the chairman of Azerbaijan Central Bank from January 1995 until April 2022. Biography Rustamov was born 29 June 1952 in Jabrail district of Azerbaijan. Education In 1969, he entered Azerbaijan National Economy Institute named after D. Bunyadzade (now Azerbaijan State Economic University), faculty of Planning of National Economy. In 1973, he graduated with honors from the University. Elman Rogers Service (1915–1996) was an American cultural anthropologist. Biography He was born on May 18, 1915 in Tecumseh, Michigan and died on November 14, 1996 in Santa Barbara, California. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1941 from the University of Michigan. He earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University in 1951 and taught there from 1949 to 1953. From there, Service went back to the University of Michigan to teach from 1953 until 1969. He later taught at the University of California at Santa Barbara from 1969 to 1985, when he retired. During his time studying at the University of Michigan, Service joined the Abraham Lincoln Brigade of the Republican Faction in Spain to fight against the victorious Nationalist Faction of General Francisco Franco during the 1936–1939 Spanish Civil War. Elman Tagaýew (born June 2, 1989 in Kyzyl-Arvat) is a Turkmen professional football midfielder of Azerbaijani descent, who last played for FC Ahal. Biography Tagaýew was born in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to an Azerbaijani family. He began playing football at eight years old. In 2014, he married his wife Arina. In 2015, they had two twin sons named Alan and Ali. Career Club Tagaýew started his career at Aşgabat before going on trial with Khazar Lankaran in early 2012. During his trial with Khazar Lankaran he appeared as a substitute, and scored, against Turkmenistan. Khazar declined to sign Tagaýew due to the players attitude during a game. Tagaýew went on to sign for AZAL in the summer of 2012, but only made 8 appearances before leaving in March 2013.
