Ellon Park And Ride
Ellon Park and Ride is a park and ride facility near Ellon, UK. History The facility opened in 2000. In 2012, expansion plans were approved by the council. In 2014, the first stage of the work was completed with 40 parking spaces added. However, the remainder of the expansion was delayed due to uncertainty over who owned an area of land that was to be compulsorily purchased, and the discovery that a water went across the area to be developed. The COVID-19 pandemic was cited as a reason for further delays. In late 2021, new stances were installed. The improvement project was completed in October 2022. Ellon ( gd, Eilean) is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, approximately north of Aberdeen, lying on the River Ythan, which has one of the few undeveloped river Ythan Estuary, estuaries on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is in the ancient region of Formartine. Its name is believed to derive from the Gaelic term ''Eilean'', an island, on account of the presence of an island in the River Ythan, which offered a convenient fording point. In 1707 it was made a burgh of barony for the Earl of Buchan. Places of interest Places of interest within the town include Ellon Castle Gardens, recently brought back to life by volunteers and open to the public (see website for latest opening times). COVID-19 Pandemic In The United Kingdom
The COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom is a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In the United Kingdom, it has resulted in confirmed cases, and is associated with deaths. The virus began circulating in the country in early 2020, arriving primarily from travel elsewhere in Europe. Various sectors responded, with more widespread public health measures incrementally introduced from March 2020. The first wave was at the time one of the world's largest outbreaks. By mid-April the peak had been passed and restrictions were gradually eased. A second wave, with a new variant that originated in the UK becoming dominant, began in the autumn and peaked in mid-January 2021, and was deadlier than the first. The UK started a COVID-19 vaccination programme in early December 2020. Generalised restrictions were gradually lifted and were mostly ended by August 2021. A third wave, ...

747 Aberdeen Airport–Peterhead
The 747 was an airport bus service which ran from Peterhead to Aberdeen Airport via Ellon. History The route was extended south starting on 21 January 2019 to also serve Montrose and Stonehaven, replacing the existing 107 service that operated between the two towns. The extension was added along with a new service, the 757, following public timetable consultations in September 2018. The routes were the first to use the newly opened Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. The new services operated on an hourly frequency and used Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single-decker buses. Passenger levels on services 747 and 757 were lower than expected. In August 2019, Stagecoach announced that it would withdraw service 757 completely and revise the route of the 747 to serve Balmedie. In April 2020, following continued low passenger numbers, the 747 service between Montrose and Aberdeen Airport was withdrawn. The 107 between Montrose and Stonehaven was reinstated, and the southern terminus of th ...
