Doug Ellin
Douglas Reed Ellin (born April 6, 1968) is an American podcaster, screenwriter and film and TV director, known best for creating the HBO television series ''Entourage''. Ellin also served as executive producer, director, head writer and supporting actor for the series, and wrote, directed and produced its 2015 film adaptation. He attended Tulane University. Life and career Ellin was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of June and Marvin Ellin. He grew up in Merrick, New York and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School (Bellmore, New York). Ellin is of Jewish descent. Before producing and writing for ''Entourage'', Ellin served as a staff writer for ''Life with Bonnie'', which starred Bonnie Hunt. The series ran from 2003-2004. Everett Ellin
Everett Bernard Ellin (1928–2011) was an American museum official, art dealer, engineer, lawyer, and talent agent. As the first Executive Director of the Museum Computer Network, he played a key role in museums' adoption of computer technology to catalog their holdings. Ellin was born on October 3, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at the University of Michigan, from which he received a bachelor's degree in engineering, and at Harvard Law School, from which he received a law degree in 1952. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, with duties that included drafting regulations regarding technological obsolescence. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for a time as a lawyer, serving as a law clerk with the California Supreme Court and as in-house counsel at Columbia Pictures. Robert Ellin
Robert Ellin (1837–1904) was an English-born American stone and wood sculptor. Ellin was born December 21, 1837, in Yorkshire, England. He was active in the United States 1867 to 1904. Not much is known about his life until his association with a fellow Englishman and Yorkshireman John William Kitson. Together they entered a mahogany breakfront in the 1876 Bi-Centential juried event in which they won a prize and much acclaim. Robert Ellin established his firm as Robert Ellin & Co circa 1870 in NYC. He and John William Kitson joined forces in 1874 before the 1876 Bi-Centennial as Robert Ellin and Company. In 1879 they formally changed the firm's name to Ellin & Kitson. Following the early death of William Kitson in February 1888, the name of the firm was changed to Ellin, Kitson and Company. Stanley Bernard Ellin (October 6, 1916 – July 31, 1986) was an American mystery writer. Ellin was born in Brooklyn, New York. After a brief tenure in the Army, at the insistence of his wife, Ellin began writing full time. While his novels are acclaimed, he is best known for his short stories. In May 1948, his first sale, and one of Ellin's most famous short stories, "The Specialty of the House" ("''Speciality of the House"'' in England), appeared in ''Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine''. In the years to come, Ellin's fame as an author grew. He was awarded three Edgar Allan Poe Awards (Edgar Award). His first Edgar was for the short story "The House Party" in 1954, the next for the short story "The Blessington Method" in 1956, and his third for the novel ''The Eighth Circle'' in 1959.
