Ellen Weiss
Ellen Weiss (born January 30, 1959) is an American journalist and four-time Peabody Award winner. She joined National Public Radio (NPR) in 1982, eventually running the NPR News national desk and serving as executive producer of the NPR News magazine ''All Things Considered''. She was named NPR vice president for news in April 2007 and held that post until January 2011. She was executive editor at the nonprofit Center for Public Integrity and since 2013 has been the Washington DC Bureau Chief and Vice-President for the E.W. Scripps Company. In 2015, she won her fourth Peabody Award for a story about soldiers discharged from the military for sexual crimes who evade registering as sex offenders after leaving the military. She attended Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, New York, and is a Smith College graduate. Westchester County is located in the U.S. state of New York. It is the seventh most populous county in the State of New York and the most populous north of New York City. According to the 2020 United States Census, the county had a population of 1,004,456, an increase of 55,344 (5.8%) from the 949,113 counted in 2010. A rabbi () is a spiritual leader or religious teacher in Judaism. One becomes a rabbi by being ordained by another rabbi – known as '' semikha'' – following a course of study of Jewish history and texts such as the Talmud. The basic form of the rabbi developed in the Pharisaic (167 BCE–73 CE) and Talmudic (70–640 CE) eras, when learned teachers assembled to codify Judaism's written and oral laws. The title "rabbi" was first used in the first century CE. In more recent centuries, the duties of a rabbi became increasingly influenced by the duties of the Protestant Christian minister, hence the title " pulpit rabbis", and in 19th-century Germany and the United States rabbinic activities including sermons, pastoral counseling, and representing the community to the outside, all increased in importance. Flasher (band)
''Flasher'' is an American indie rock band from Washington D.C. History Flasher began in 2016, with their history dating back to Emma Baker and Daniel Saperstein forming Sad Bones whilst still in high school, who released music digitally via Bandcamp. Taylor Mulitz met the duo at a show in 2007. Several years later, Mulitz and Baker formed Young Trynas and released an EP in 2015. The band originally featured bassist Eva Moolchan, who was replaced by Saperstein. The trio released their self-titled EP ''Flasher'' on April 8, 2016 via Sister Polygon Records. On June 8, 2018, Flasher released their debut studio album '' Constant Image'' via Domino Recording Company. Upon its release, the album was given "generally favorable" reviews by Metacritic. Commenting on the recording of the album, Mulitz stated that "“it was kind of traumatic, honestly.
