Ellen Einan
Ellen Einan (5 June 1931 – 25 March 2013) was a Norwegian poet and illustrator. Biography Ellen Einan was born at Svolvaer in Nordland, Norway, on 5 June 1931. Einan was known throughout Norway for her compact writing style, mystical vocabulary, vivid imagery, and overall unusual but fascinating poems. She made her literary debut in 1982 with the poetry collection ''Den gode engsøster''. Among her more notable works included ''Søster natt'' (1985), ''Døgnfarvene er mørke'' (1991), ''De syv nattstegene'' (1992), ''Jade for min engel'' (1994) ''Innenfor og utenfor er ett'' (1999) and ''Dagen får min uro'' (2004). Svolvær
Svolvær () is the administrative centre of Vågan Municipality in Nordland County, Norway. It is located on the island of Austvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago, along the Vestfjorden. The town has a population (2018) of 4,720 which gives the town a population density of . Name The place is first mentioned in 1567 as "Suoluer", though there is some evidence of sparse settlement, likely overflowing from nearby established settlements predating the aforementioned reference. Kabelvåg is a village in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the southern shore of the island of Austvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago. Kabelvåg lies about to the southwest of the town of Svolvær, the administrative centre of Vågan municipality. The village has a population (2018) of 1,883 which gives the village a population density of . The village was founded as ''"Vågan"'' in the early 12th century by King Øystein Magnusson, who built a church and a fishermen's hostel there. Aschehoug Prize
The Aschehoug Prize is published annually by the Norwegian publishing house Aschehoug. The Aschehoug Prize is awarded to Norwegian authors on the basis of the merit of a recent publication. It is awarded on merit, irrespective of the publisher, based on a binding recommendation from the Norwegian Critics Organization. The prize consists of a statuette of sculptor Ørnulf Bast and 100,000 kroner (2018).
