Ella Roberts is an Australian rules footballer playing for the West Coast Eagles in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Roberts was recruited by the Eagles with the 14th pick in the 2022 AFL Women's draft. Peel Thunder Football Club
The Peel Thunder Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The team is based in Mandurah, Western Australia, with their home ground being Rushton Park. The club joined the WAFL as an expansion team in 1997. Since 2014 Peel have been in a formal alignment with the Fremantle Dockers of the Australian Football League, an arrangement which sees Fremantle's reserve players play for Peel. WAFL Women's
WAFL Women's (WAFLW) is an Australian rules football league based in Perth, Western Australia. The WAFLW is the premier women's football competition in Western Australia, and from 2023 is contested by eight teams owned and operated by clubs in the men's West Australian Football League (WAFL). The league was established in 2018 by the West Australian Football Commission and West Australian Women's Football League, the latter having been the governing body and league for women's football in the state from 1987 to 2018, and has been run by the WAFC after the WAWFL was dissolved in 2021. 2022 AFL Women's Draft
The 2022 AFL Women's draft consists of the various periods when the 18 clubs in the AFL Women's competition can recruit players prior to the competition's seventh season. Expansion club signing period The expansion clubs Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, and Sydney are able to sign up to 14 current AFLW players before the sign and trade period. Lathlain Park
Lathlain Park (also known as Mineral Resources Park under ground sponsorship arrangements) is an Australian rules football ground, located in Lathlain, an inner-eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Since its opening in 1959, it has been the home ground for the Perth Football Club of the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Since 2019 it has been the administrative and training headquarters of professional Australian Football League (AFL) club the West Coast Eagles. The AFL Women's Rising Star award is presented annually to the best young player in the AFL Women's (AFLW) during the home-and-away season. The first award was awarded in 2017. The award has been sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB) since 2017. Eligibility and voting procedure Every round, two nominations are given to standout young players who performed well during that particular round. To be eligible for nomination, a player must be under 21 years of age on 1 January of that year and not have been previously nominated. The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League. The 2021 NAB AFL Women's Under-19 Championships is the eleventh national under-18/19 girls Australian rules football competition. The tournament, which was previously held in 2019 and not in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was played in April and May and featured eight teams.
