Ella Nelson
Ella Nelson (born 10 May 1994) is an Australian former sprinter specialising in the 200 metres. She competed in the 200m and 4 × 100 m relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, Scotland, the 200m at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing, China and the 2017 World Championships held in London. In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil she represented Australia in the 200 metres at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she ran a personal best of 22.50 in the semi-finals finishing third just missing the final by 100th of a second but to place 9th in the event overall out of 72 competitors. Nelson won the Women's Open Australian 200m championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and is the 6th fastest of all time ranked Australian over this distance. In January 2021, she announced her retirement from professional sports. 2014 IAAF World Relays
The 2014 IAAF World Relays were held in May 2014 in Nassau, Bahamas. The event was the first edition of the IAAF World Relays. There were five events for each gender. In men's and women's 4 x 100 metres and 4 x 400 metres, the event served as a qualification event for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. The 2017 IAAF World Relays is the third edition of the biennial, global track and field relay competition between nations. It was held April 22–23, 2017, in Nassau, Bahamas. The distance medley relay The distance medley relay (DMR) is an athletic event in which four athletes compete as part of a relay. Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics were held during the last 10 days of the games, from 12 to 21 August 2016, at the Olympic Stadium. The sport of athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics was made into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. The women's 200 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics is scheduled to be held at the Beijing National Stadium on 26, 27 and 28 August. Summary Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica entered the competition as defending champion but after winning the 100 metres, decided against running here. 2015 World Championships In Athletics
The 2015 IAAF World Championships ( zh, 第十五届世界田径锦标赛), the fifteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 22 to 30 August at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. Forty-three nations won medals, 144 of which were awarded. Kenya topped the medal table for the first time, with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. The United States won 18 medals, six gold, six silver and six bronze, which was the highest tally. Host nation China, finished 11th on the medals table, while Russia finished ninth. 205 IAAF member countries and territories participated, two more than in 2013, with new IAAF member, Kosovo, making its debut.
