Elk River (Alabama)
The Elk River is a tributary of the Tennessee River in the U.S. states of Tennessee and Alabama. It is then bridged by both U.S. Route 41 and Interstate 24. Shortly below this point, it forms the Coffee County – Franklin County line. It is first impounded by Elk River Dam, forming Woods Reservoir, the impoundment of which extends upstream to about the same point where the stream ceases to serve as the Coffee-Franklin County line and is entirely in Franklin County. Meander
A meander is one of a series of regular sinuous curves in the channel of a river or other watercourse. It is produced as a watercourse erodes the sediments of an outer, concave bank ( cut bank) and deposits sediments on an inner, convex bank which is typically a point bar. The result of this coupled erosion and sedimentation is the formation of a sinuous course as the channel migrates back and forth across the axis of a floodplain. The zone within which a meandering stream periodically shifts its channel is known as a meander belt. It typically ranges from 15 to 18 times the width of the channel. Lincoln County, Tennessee
Lincoln County is a county located in the south central part of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,319. Its county seat and largest city is Fayetteville. The county is named for Major General Benjamin Lincoln, an officer in the American Revolutionary War. History Lincoln County was created in 1809 from parts of Bedford County. The land occupied by the county was part of a land cession obtained from the Cherokee and Chickasaw in 1806. State Route 130 (SR 130) is 51.3-mile long east–west state highway in Middle Tennessee. Route description SR 130 begins Marshall County in Petersburg at an intersection with US 431/ SR 50/ SR 129. SR 130 goes east into downtown, concurrent with SR 129, along Railroad Street to an intersection with N High Street along the Lincoln County line, where SR 130 splits off from heads north, in Marshall County. It leaves Petersburg and continues north through farmland and rural areas to cross into Bedford County. The highway then curves to the northeast and becomes concurrent with SR 64 just prior to entering Shelbyville.
