Elizabeth Lowe Watson
Elizabeth Lowe Watson (October 6, 1842 – October 7, 1927) was an American lecturer on moral, social, religious reforms, and advancement of women. She served as president of the California Equal Suffrage Association and directed the work which won the ballot for women of the state. She was also active in the cause of Temperance movement in the United States, temperance and peace work. Watson owned and managed a fruit farm in Cupertino, California. Biography Elizabeth Low was born in Solon, Ohio, October 6, 1842. Her maiden name was Low, which was changed to Lowe by the younger members of the family. Her parents were Abraham and Lucretia (Daniels) Low. Her father was of Germanic peoples, Teutonic descent, born in New York City, and her grandfather, of the Knickerbocker type, had large landed possessions in "Old Manhattan Town." Lizzie Allen Harker (née Watson; 1863 – 14 April 1933) was an English author. Amongst her works are the play ''Marigold'' (with Francis R. Pryor), which was turned into a 1938 film ''Marigold''. It was also broadcast on 22 May 1943 as one of the first episodes of BBC Radio's long-running drama strand '' Saturday Night Theatre''. She was born in Gloucester and educated at Cheltenham Ladies College. She was the wife (married 1885), and later widow, of James Allen Harker (1847–1894), professor at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. Bessie Watson
Elizabeth Watson (13 July 1900 – 27 June 1992) was a Scottish child suffragette and Bagpipes, piper. Early life Watson was born at 11 Vennel, Edinburgh on 13 July 1900, the daughter of Agnes Newton and Horatio Watson, a Bookbinding, bookbinder for George Watson's printing company. Watson was encouraged to take up piping at the age of seven or eight as her parents hoped it would strengthen her lungs against tuberculosis after her aunt Margaret died of the disease. Her first set of pipes was a half sized set made by Robertson, the pipe maker. Involvement with suffragette campaign After seeing an advert for a pageant of historical Scottish women organised by Flora Drummond and the Women's Social and Political Union, Watson and her mother joined the WSPU and Watson, at the age of 9, was invited to play the pipes in the pageant. Elizabeth "Betsy" Watson was Houston's first female police chief. She served for two years before becoming the police chief in Austin, Texas, and then becoming a law enforcement consultant. Early life Watson grew up in Philadelphia but attended high school in Houston, after graduating from college and joining HPD, she met Chase in late 1973 when they were both assigned to the Houston jail, and they began dating the following spring. Since such fraternization was frowned upon, they used a police scuba-diving club as a cover. They married in 1976, the same day she was promoted to Detective. Elizabeth Schoff Watson (born December 9, 1975) is an American labor attorney, former executive director of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center, and the current Assistant Secretary of Labor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the United States Department of Labor. Watson was a member of the Australia teams that won the silver medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2019 Netball World Cup. In 2018 and 2022 she received the Liz Ellis Diamond award. Freeman On The Land Movement
The freeman on the land movement (sometimes spelled freeman-on-the-land or abbreviated as FOTL), also known as the freemen of the land, the freemen movement, or simply freemen, is a loose group of individuals who adhere to pseudolegal concepts and conspiracy theories implying that they are bound by statute laws only if they consent to those laws. They believe that they can therefore declare themselves independent of the government and the rule of law, holding that the only "true" law is their own idiosyncratic interpretation of " common law". The name "freeman on the land" describes a person who is literally a "free man" on the land where they live. The freeman on the land movement also advocates schemes to avoid taxes which it considers to be illegitimate. Freemen on the land are mostly present in Commonwealth countries.
