Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall
Elizabeth D. Sherwood-Randall (born October 4, 1959) is an American national security and energy leader, public servant, educator, and author currently serving as the 11th United States Homeland Security Advisor to President Joe Biden since 2021. She previously served in the Clinton and Obama Administrations and held appointments at academic institutions and think tanks. She was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended Harvard University. After completing her bachelor’s degree at Harvard, she received a Rhodes Scholarship and a doctorate in international relations at Oxford University. She and her brother, Ben Sherwood, were the first brother and sister from the same family to win Rhodes Scholarships. White House
The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. National Security Council
A national security council (NSC) is usually an executive branch governmental body responsible for coordinating policy on national security issues and advising chief executives on matters related to national security. An NSC is often headed by a national security advisor and staffed with senior-level officials from military, diplomatic, intelligence, law enforcement and other governmental bodies. The functions and responsibilities of an NSC at the strategic state level are different from those of the United Nations Security Council, which is more of a diplomatic forum.
