Elizabeth Quay Railway Station
Elizabeth Quay railway station, formerly known as Esplanade station, serves the southern end of Perth's central business district including Elizabeth Quay and the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is part of the Transperth network. History Elizabeth Quay, then known as Esplanade Station, was built as part of the New MetroRail project. Construction began in 2004 with the station opening under the name Esplanade station on 15 October 2007, as the terminus of the Joondalup line. On 23 December 2007, the Mandurah line opened and through services commenced. On 31 January 2016, to facilitate the opening of Elizabeth Quay, Esplanade station and the Esplanade Busport were renamed to Elizabeth Quay railway station and Elizabeth Quay Bus Station at an estimated combined cost of $700,000. The Esplanade Railway Station
The Esplanade railway station was a railway station on the Transperth network. It was located on the Fremantle line, 19.8 kilometres from Perth station between Bathers Beach and Esplanade Park. History On 22 October 1898, the Fremantle line was extended south from Fremantle to Robbs Jetty. For the staging of the 1987 America's Cup, the existing narrow and standard gauge tracks were combined as one dual gauge line with three temporary stations erected, one of which was The Esplanade. Between October 1986 and February 1987, the Hotham Valley Railway operated a daily service on this section of the line with a W class steam locomotive as the ''Spinnaker Run''. This was supplemented by Transperth special services. The service is operated by Transperth Train Operations, a division of the Public Transport Authority. The line is long and has 12 stations. At its northern end, the line (travelling south) begins as a continuation of the Joondalup line at Perth Underground, and (travelling north) ends as a continuation of the Joondalup line at Elizabeth Quay. The first of the line is underground, passing under the Perth central business district. The line surfaces and enters the median of the Kwinana Freeway just north of the Swan River. It continues south down the freeway's median for , before veering south-west towards Rockingham. The final stretch of the line goes south from Rockingham to Mandurah. Joondalup Line
The Joondalup line is a commuter rail service in Western Australia, linking the Perth central business district (CBD) with the Perth metropolitan region, metropolitan area's north-western suburbs. The service is operated on the Northern Suburbs Railway by Transperth Train Operations, a division of the Public Transport Authority (Western Australia), Public Transport Authority, and is part of the Transperth network. It is long and serves 13 stations. Blue CAT (Perth)
The Perth Central Area Transit (Perth CAT) system, or simply CAT, consists of five bus routes in the centre of Perth, one bus route in Fremantle, and three bus routes in Joondalup. Similar services exist in Rockingham (the City Centre Transit System) and Midland (the Midland Gate Shuttle). Unlike all other Transperth services, most CAT routes are free. Perth CAT On 23 September 1996, MetroBus commenced operating two CAT routes: the Red CAT and the Blue CAT, replacing the City Clipper services that had operated since September 1973. It is located at the juncture of the Mandurah andonce completed Thornlie lines, from Perth station inside the median strip of the Kwinana Freeway serving the suburb of Cockburn Central. Rockingham railway station is a railway station in Rockingham, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Mandurah railway line, which is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. Mandurah Railway Station
Mandurah Station is the terminus of the Mandurah railway line and a bus station on the Transperth network, serving the satellite city of Mandurah, Western Australia. History The bus station opened prior to the railway station, on 17 September 2003, replacing a temporary bus terminus located nearby in the carpark of Rushton Park. The railway station later opened on the same site as the bus station, on 23 December 2007 by Premier of Western Australia, Premier Alan Carpenter alongside the rest of the Mandurah railway line. The car park was also significantly expanded for the opening of the railway station. In 2020, construction started on a $32 million multi-storey car park for Mandurah station as part of Metronet (Western Australia), Metronet. Whitfords railway station is a railway station located on the boundary of Padbury and Kingsley, suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Joondalup railway line, which is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It is located in the median of the Mitchell Freeway, and consists of an elevated bus interchange on top of an island platform at ground level. South of Whitfords, trains run every 5 minutes during peak. North of Whitfords, trains run every 10 minutes during peak. Between peak during the day, trains run every 15 minutes. Butler Railway Station
Butler railway station (officially Butler Station) is a commuter railway station in Butler, Western Australia, a suburb of Perth. It is the terminus of the Joondalup line, which is on the Transperth commuter rail network. Planning for the Joondalup line in the Butler area began in the late 1990s. The station was built as part of a $240 million extension of the Joondalup line from Clarkson to Butler. Construction began on the station on 16 July 2012, and was completed on 16 May 2014, opening on 21 September 2014. The Joondalup line is currently being extended past Butler station to Yanchep railway station. As of November 2021, the extension is planned to open at the end of 2023.
