Elizabeth Gregg Patterson
Elizabeth Gregg Patterson (1904-1987) was an American short-story writer. Biography Gregg was born in Newport, Arkansas on August 8, 1904, and lived there until attending Smith College from which she graduated in 1926. She moved to New York City and soon after, her career as a writer of short fiction began. For two decades, her stories appeared in such magazines as ''Charm'', ''Collier's Weekly, Collier's'', ''Cosmopolitan (magazine), Cosmopolitan'', ''The New Yorker'', ''Atlantic Monthly'', ''Saturday Evening Post'' and many more. Throughout her career, she was represented by Harold Ober, Harold Ober Associates of New York City. In 1942, Patterson became a Fellow, at the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, Middlebury College, and later, her short story, "Homecoming", was awarded third prize in the 1951 O. Newport is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Arkansas, United States located on the White River northeast of Little Rock. The population was 7,879 at the 2010 census.
