Elisabeth Croft
Elisabeth Croft (22 September 1907 – 13 January 2003) was an English actress, known for playing Edith Tatum in the ITV soap opera ''Crossroads''. She is not to be confused with another English actress, Elizabeth Croft. Personal life Croft was born on 22 September 1907 in Windermere. Withdrawn as a child, she nonetheless chose to be an actress. In the 1930s she landed roles in repertory theatre and co-starred with Seymour Hicks in ''Vintage Wine'' in the Daly's Theatre, 1934. She was married and had a son and a daughter. Croft died on 13 January 2003; on that day a new version of ''Crossroads'' was released. Career In 1966, Croft landed her first television role, a part in the ITV soap opera ''Crossroads'', playing Miss Tatum. The Nurse is a character in William Shakespeare's classic drama ''Romeo and Juliet''. She is the personal servant, guardian (and former wet nurse) of Juliet Capulet, and has been since Juliet was born. She had a daughter named Susan who died in infancy, and then became wetnurse to Juliet. As the primary person to like, she is therefore Juliet's foremost confidante. ''Within These Walls'' is a British television drama programme made by London Weekend Television for ITV and shown between 1974 and 1978. It portrayed life in HMP Stone Park, a fictional women's prison. Unlike later women-in-prison TV series, '' Bad Girls'' (ITV, 1999-2006), and Australian series, ''Prisoner'' (aka ''Prisoner: Cell Block H'', Grundy Organisation, original run: 1979-1986), and ''Wentworth'' (2013-2021), ''Within These Walls'' tended to centre its story-lines around the prison staff rather than the inmates. "A Celebration" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It was released as a non-album single in March 1982, between the records ''October'' (1981) and '' War'' (1983). Edward IV (28 April 1442 – 9 April 1483) was King of England from 4 March 1461 to 3 October 1470, then again from 11 April 1471 until his death in 1483.
