Elisa Molinari
Elisa Molinari is an Italian physicist from the University of Modena and CNR, Italy. She has been primarily interested in computational materials science and nanotechnologies, and she has been particularly active in the theory of fundamental properties of low-dimensional structures, in the simulation of nanodevices, in the development of related computational methods. She also has a continuing interest in scientific imaging and communication. Since 2001, she has been a full professor of Condensed Matter Physics at Unimore, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, and since 2015, she serves as Director, MaX European Centre of Excellence on 'Materials design at the exascale.' The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia ( it, Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia), located in Modena and Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, is one of the oldest universities in Italy, founded in 1175, with a population of 20,000 students. The medieval university disappeared by 1338 and was replaced by "three public lectureships" which did not award degrees and were suspended in the 1590s "for lack of money". Janina Maultzsch
Janina Maultzsch is a German physicist who is the Chair of Experimental Physics at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Her research considers the electronic and optical properties of carbon nanomaterials. Early life and education Maultzsch was an undergraduate student at the Technical University of Berlin, where she studied physics. She remained in Berlin for doctoral research, investigating the vibrational properties of carbon allotropes including nanotubes and graphite. Research and career Maultzsch moved to the University of Siegen, where she worked on near field microscopy. She returned to the Technical University of Berlin in late 2004, where she worked as a researcher in the Institute of Solid State Physics.
