Elias R. Lorenzo
Elias Richard Lorenzo, O.S.B. (born October 6, 1960) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church who has served as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Newark in New Jersey since 2020. Lorenzo previously served as the abbot president of the American-Cassinese Congregation of Benedictine monasteries. He was the third member of St. Mary's Abbey in Morris Township, New Jersey, to hold this position and the first to become a bishop. Sunset Park is a neighborhood in the southwestern part of the borough of Brooklyn in New York City, bounded by Park Slope and Green-Wood Cemetery to the north, Borough Park to the east, Bay Ridge to the south, and Upper New York Bay to the west.
