Eli Mahpud
Eli Mahpud ( he, אלי מחפוד; born 25 March 1961) is an Israeli former association football player and manager. Career Mahpud spent two spells as manager of Hapoel Petah Tikva, first leading them to promotion from the Liga Leumit in 2008 before being dismissed in 2009, then reappointed in December 2009 only to quit his post ten months later. Between these appointments he led Maccabi Ahi Nazareth to promotion to the Israeli Premier League before leaving the club bottom of that league. Petah Tikva ( he, פֶּתַח תִּקְוָה, , ), also known as ''Em HaMoshavot'' (), is a city in the Central District (Israel), Central District of Israel, east of Tel Aviv. It was founded in 1878, mainly by Haredi Judaism, Haredi Jews of the Old Yishuv, and became a permanent settlement in 1883 with the financial help of Edmond James de Rothschild, Baron Edmond de Rothschild. The Israeli Premier League ( he, ליגת העל, ''Ligat Ha`Al'', ), is a professional association football league which operates as the highest division of the Israeli Football League – the state's league of Israel. The league is contested by 14 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with its second division Liga Leumit. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing between 33 and 36 matches each, totalling 240 matches in every season.
