Eli Aflalo
Eli Aflalo ( he, אלי אפללו, born 8 September 1952) is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Kadima and Likud from 2003 until 2012. Between July 2008 and March 2009 he was the country's Minister of Immigrant Absorption. Biography Aflalo was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1952 and made aliyah to Israel in 1962. He completed his army service with the rank of staff sergeant. He was first elected to the Knesset on the Likud list in 2003, and on 30 March 2005 was appointed as Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade, and Labour. Afula ( he, עפולה Arabic: العفولة) is a city in the Northern District of Israel, often known as the "Capital of the Valley" due to its strategic location in the Jezreel Valley. Likud ( he, הַלִּיכּוּד, HaLikud, The Consolidation), officially known as Likud – National Liberal Movement, is a major centre-right to right-wing political party in Israel. It was founded in 1973 by Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon in an alliance with several right-wing parties. Likud's landslide victory in the 1977 elections was a major turning point in the country's political history, marking the first time the left had lost power. Kadima ( he, קדימה, lit=''Forward'') was a centrist and liberal political party in Israel. It was established on 24 November 2005 by moderates from Likud largely following the implementation of Ariel Sharon's unilateral disengagement plan in August 2005, and was soon joined by like-minded Labor politicians. With Ehud Olmert as party chairman following Sharon's stroke, it became the largest party in the Knesset after the 2006 elections, winning 29 of the 120 seats, and led a coalition government. Avi Duan
Avraham "Avi" Duan ( he, אברהם "אבי" דואן, 17 October 1955 – 22 September 2018) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Kadima between 2012 and 2013. Biography Duan grew up in the Ramat Amidar neighbourhood of Ramat Gan and studied for a master's degree in social work and community administration at Bar Ilan University. He worked as a social worker at American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and ran centres for occupational development for Ethiopian immigrants in Ashdod and Rehovot. In 2008 he headed Shaul Mofaz's campaign for the Kadima leadership election. He was placed 33rd on the Kadima list for the 2009 Knesset elections. After failing to enter the Knesset as the party won 28 seats, he worked as a political advisor to Yulia Shamalov-Berkovich.
