Eleonora Giorgi (racewalker)
Eleonora Anna Giorgi (born 14 September 1989) is an Italian race walker bronze medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championships. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in 20 km walk. She is the 5000 metres race walk (outdoor, track) world record holder with the time of 20:01.80 sets on 18 May 2014 in Misterbianco. Biography On 9 June 2012 in A Coruña, one leg of IAAF Race Walking Gran Prix 2012 she obtained the "standard A" for 2012 Summer Olympics, on 13 March at the 2012 IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Saransk (Russia) she ranked 14th, matching the other FIDAL requirement (classify among the first 20 athletes) for FIDAL). On 6 July 2012 she won the race in Bressanone walking 10 km in 45 min 19 sec and received the gold medal. 2021 European Race Walking Team Championships
The 2021 European Race Walking Team Championships took place on 16 May 2021. The races were held on a 1 km lap around the city park of Poděbrady, Czech Republic. It was the first edition to be held under the new name of European Race Walking Team Championships (from 2021 on). For the first time European Race Walking Cup also included women's 35 km racewalking event. World records in athletics are ratified by World Athletics. Athletics records comprise the best performances in the sports of track and field, road running and racewalking. Records are kept for all events contested at the Olympic Games and some others. Unofficial records for some other events are kept by track and field statisticians. 5000 Metres Race Walk
The 5000 metres race walk is a racewalking event. The event is competed as a track race and was part of the athletics programme for men at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics until 1993. It is also an event in the World Masters Athletics Championships, and is a World record event. Athletes must always keep in contact with the ground and the supporting leg must remain straight until the raised leg passes it. 5000 meters is 3.11 miles. World records IAAF just ratified world records for men's indoor marks. On February 14, 1995, Mikhail Shchennikov of Russia set the 5,000 m race walk world indoor record in Moscow in a time of 18:07.08. The faster all-time men's best outdoor mark is held by Hatem Ghoula of Tunisia, at 18:05.49.
