Elena Petreska ( mk, Елена Петреска, born August 1, 1980) is a Macedonian pop singer from Prilep Prilep ( mk, Прилеп ) is the fourth-largest city in North Macedonia. It has a population of 66,246 and is known as "the city under Marko's Towers" because of its proximity to the towers of Prince Marko. Name The name of Prilep appear .... She started her career singing at children festivals and carried on with her studies on the Music Academy in Skopje. Currently she is working on her second album which has not got a name yet. Elena finished on the fifth place with 67 points at Skopje Festival 2007 (the Macedonian Eurovision selection) with the song "Peam" ("I sing"). Prilep ( mk, Прилеп ) is the fourth-largest city in North Macedonia. It has a population of 66,246 and is known as "the city under Marko's Towers" because of its proximity to the towers of Prince Marko. Name The name of Prilep appeared first as ''Πρίλαπος''. The old fortress was attached to the rocky hilltop, and its name means “stuck” ''on the rocks'' in Old Church Slavonic. Macedonia (officially under the provisional appellation "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", abbreviated "FYR Macedonia") participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Mojot svet" written by Grigor Koprov and Ognen Nedelkovski. The song was performed by Karolina who previously represented Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "Od nas zavisi", placing nineteenth in the competition. Ohridski Trubaduri - Ohrid Fest is a music festival that takes place in Ohrid, North Macedonia every summer. It began in 1994 as a showcase for Macedonian summer folklore. In 1997, a pop evening was introduced to motivate Macedonian lyricists and composers, as well as artists. In 2003, an international evening was added to the program, which consists of foreign artists performing their songs along with the best placed songs from the pop evening. The festival has become prominent within the Balkan region which led to its broadcast in different countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Greece. The winners of the festival are awarded with a monetary prize as well as promotional products from the sponsors.
