Elena Meissner
Elena Meissner also called Elena Buznea-Meissner, (born Elena Buznea; 1867–1940) was a Romanian feminist and suffragist. She was the co-founder of the Romanian women's movement organisation '' Asociația de Emancipare Civilă și Politică a Femeii Române'' (1918) and its president in 1919. Life Meissner was born in 1867 in Huși, the former capital of the disbanded Fălciu County in the historical region of Western Moldavia. She was one of the first female students to attend the University of Iași in the 1880s. In 1905 she married politician Constantin Meissner (1854–1942). Huși
Huși (, Yiddish/ he, חוש ''Khush'', hu, Huszváros, German: ''Hussburg'') is a city in Vaslui County, Romania, former capital of the disbanded Fălciu County in the historical region of Western Moldavia, Romanian Orthodox episcopal see, and home of some of the best vineyards of Romania. The city is located on a branch of the Iași-Galați railway, west of the Prut River and the border with the Republic of Moldova. Ana Conta-Kernbach
Ana Conta-Kernbach (5 November 1865 – 13 December 1921) was a Romanian teacher, writer, and women's rights activist. Educated at the in Iași, she graduated in 1883 and began teaching there that same year. Continuing her studies at the same time, she enrolled at the University of Iaşi, studying both in the normal school and philosophical faculties. In 1885, she transferred to the Oltea Doamna Lyceum and graduated in 1888. In 1893, she went to Paris to study at the University of Paris and the Collège de France, earning her doctorate in 1895. Returning to Romania, she became the director of the Normal School of Applications and taught both pedagogy and psychology at the for more than two decades. In addition to her teaching Conta-Kernbach published literary works beginning 1891 and in her later life as an active suffragist published articles in favor of women's rights and equality. Ella Negruzzi
Ella Negruzzi (1876–1948) was a Romanian lawyer and women's rights activist, and the first female lawyer in Romania (1913). She was a co-founder of the women's organization '' Association for the Civil and Political Emancipation of Romanian Women'' (1917), the '' Group of Democratic Lawyers'' (1935) and the ''Women's Front'' (1936). Early life Ella Negruzzi was born on 11 September 1876 in Hermeziu, in the Moldavia Region of the recently formed country of Romania. Though her mother's identity is unknown, she grew up in a household of prominent men. Her father was the writer Leon C.
