Elena Igorevna Lyadova (russian: Еле́на И́горевна Ля́дова; born 25 December 1980) is a Russian actress. In 2002, she graduated from Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School in Moscow, Russia. Her film credits include ''Elena'' (2011), ''The Geographer Drank His Globe Away'' (2013), ''Leviathan'' (2014) and '' Orlean'' (2015). Biography Elena Lyadova was born in on 25 December 1980 in Morshansk, Tambov Oblast. When Elena turned six, the family moved to Odintsovo, Moscow Oblast. She graduated from the Higher Theatre School named after MS Shchepkin in 2002 and was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Theatre for Young Audiences. ''Dovlatov'' (russian: Довлатов) is a 2018 Russian biographical film about writer Sergei Dovlatov, directed by Aleksei German and starring Milan Marić and Danila Kozlovsky. It premiered at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival in competition on the 17th of February, where it was awarded a Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for costume and production design. It received generally positive reviews from critics. Moscow International Film Festival
The Moscow International Film Festival (russian: Моско́вский междунаро́дный кинофестива́ль, translit. ''Moskóvskiy myezhdunaródniy kinofyestivál''; abbreviated as MIFF) is the film festival first held in Moscow in 1935 and became regular since 1959. From its inception to 1959 it was held every second year in July, alternating with the Karlovy Vary festival. The festival has been held annually since 1999. In reaction to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the FIAPF (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films, translated as the International Federation of Film Producers Associations) paused the accreditation of the festival until further notice. ''The Geographer Drank His Globe Away'' (russian: Географ глобус пропил, Geograf Globus Propil) is a Russian drama film made in 2013, directed by Alexander Veledinsky, based on the novel of the same name by Alexei Ivanov. The action of the film, as opposed to the novel, has been transferred from the "dashing nineties" to the present day. The film participated in the XXIV Open Russian Film Festival "Kinotavr" in Sochi and was awarded the main prize. It was released on 7 November 2013. Plot The main character, a biologist named Victor Sluzhkin, loses his job and, to make ends meet, is forced to take a job in a local school as a geography teacher.
