Electoral districts of Ukraine (a.k.a. single-mandate constituencies) — territorial units of Elections in Ukraine, election organization and parliamentary representation in Ukraine. Typically, electoral districts cover several Administrative divisions of Ukraine, administrative districts of an oblast or the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, or a medium-sized city or a part of a large city. Proportional Representation
Proportional representation (PR) refers to a type of electoral system under which subgroups of an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body. The concept applies mainly to geographical (e.g. states, regions) and political divisions (political parties) of the electorate. The essence of such systems is that all votes cast - or almost all votes cast - contribute to the result and are actually used to help elect someone—not just a plurality, or a bare majority—and that the system produces mixed, balanced representation reflecting how votes are cast. 2019 Ukrainian Presidential Election
The 2019 Ukrainian presidential election was held on 31 March and 21 April in a two-round system. There were 39 candidates for the election on the ballot. The 2014 annexation of Crimea by Russia and the occupation of parts of Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast prevented around 12% of eligible voters from participating in the election. As no candidate received an absolute majority of the vote, a second round was held between the top two candidates, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a comedian who portrayed a fictional president of Ukraine in the comedy television series ''Servant of the People'', and the incumbent president, Petro Poroshenko, on 21 April 2019. Donbas
The Donbas or Donbass (, ; uk, Донба́с ; russian: Донба́сс ) is a historical, cultural, and economic region in eastern Ukraine.
