Electoral District Of Scarborough
Scarborough is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is a coastal electorate based in the northern suburbs of Perth and is named for the suburb of Scarborough. It also includes the suburbs of Doubleview, Innaloo, Osborne Park and parts of the suburbs of City Beach, Gwelup, Karrinyup and Trigg. Politically, the district is a marginal one. Based on the results of the 2005 state election, the seat was created with a Liberal Party majority of 52.4% to 47.6% versus the Labor Party. History Scarborough was first created at the 1972 redistribution, and was first contested at the 1974 election. Although typically a Liberal-held seat, it was won by the Labor Party at the 1983 and 1986 elections. The district was abolished at the 1996 election, largely replaced by the seat of Innaloo. Stuart Neil Aubrey (born 28 December 1990) is an Australian politician and former electrician, who was elected as a Labor member for Scarborough in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly at the 2021 state election. Early life and education Stuart Aubrey was born on 28 December 1990 in Pinjarra, Western Australia, to Ronald Edward Aubrey, a mathematics teacher, and Christine Anne Aubrey, a disability support worker. He attended North Mandurah Primary School and Frederick Irwin Anglican School, completing up to year 11. He later did a Certificate IV in Adult Preparation Studies, which is equivalent to year 12, at Tuart College. 1974 Western Australian State Election
Elections were held in the state of Western Australia on 30 March 1974 to elect all 51 members to the Legislative Assembly and 15 members to the 30-seat Legislative Council. The one-term Labor government, led by Premier John Tonkin, was defeated by the Liberal Party, led by Opposition Leader Charles Court. Churchlands is a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Western Australia. Churchlands is named for the western suburb of Churchlands which falls within its borders, and was created at the 1994 redistribution, replacing the seat of Floreat which had existed since 1968. It was held for most of its history by Liz Constable, the independent former member for Floreat who had won the predecessor seat in a 1991 by-election. However, the seat's demographics suggested it was a strongly Liberal seat on paper, and it was taken for granted Constable would be succeeded by a Liberal once she retired. 2008 Western Australian State Election
The 2008 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 6 September 2008 to elect 59 members to the Legislative Assembly and 36 members to the Legislative Council. The incumbent centre-left Labor Party government, in power since the 2001 election and led since 25 January 2006 by Premier Alan Carpenter, was defeated by the centre-right Liberal Party opposition, led by Opposition Leader Colin Barnett since 6 August 2008. Elections were held in the state of Western Australia on 10 February 2001 to elect all 57 members to the Legislative Assembly and all 34 members to the Legislative Council.
