Electoral District Of Bundamba
Bundamba is a Legislative Assembly of Queensland electoral division in the state of Queensland, Australia. The electorate encompasses suburbs in the east and south-east of the City of Ipswich local government area. Major locations include Bundamba, Blackstone, Goodna, Redbank Plains, Augustine Heights and Springfield. Bundamba was also the name of a previous electorate that existed between 1873 and 1912. The seat has been held by the Labor Party since it was recreated in 1992, and for much of that time has been a reasonably safe Labor seat. In the 2006 state election, Labor's Jo-Ann Miller won the seat with 68.5% of the vote. Miller first won the seat in a by-election in February 2000 which was a record vote in a by-election towards a Government. She was the 100th ALP woman elected to Parliament. Miller was nearly swept out in Labor's near-meltdown of 2012, in which her majority was pared back from a comfortably safe 21.2 percent to an extremely marginal 1.8 percent. The ... Lance Richard McCallum is an Australian politician. He has been a Australian Labor Party, Labor member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2020, when he was elected to represent Electoral district of Bundamba, Bundamba in a 2020 Bundamba state by-election, by-election following the resignation of Jo-Ann Miller. 2006 Queensland State Election
An election was held in the Australian state of Queensland on 9 September 2006 to elect the 89 members of the state's Legislative Assembly, after being announced by Premier Peter Beattie on 15 August 2006. The election saw the incumbent Labor government led by Premier Peter Beattie defeat the National-Liberal Coalition led by Lawrence Springborg and Bruce Flegg respectively, and gain a fourth consecutive term in office. Beattie thus became the first Labor Premier of Queensland to win four consecutive elections since William Forgan Smith did so in the 1930s. Had Beattie served out his fourth term, he would have become the second-longest serving Queensland Premier, after Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen. Robert James Gibbs (born 3 November 1946) is an Australian politician. James Clarke Cribb (1856 - 1926) was a businessman and politician in Queensland, Australia . He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early life James Clarke Cribb was born 4 October 1856 at Ipswich, the son of Benjamin Cribb (a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly) and his second wife, Clarissa Foote (the sister of John Clarke Foote). Thomas Glassey
Thomas Glassey (26 February 1844 – 28 September 1936) was an Irish-born Australian politician. Born in Markethill, County Armagh, he received no formal education, working as a mill-worker and miner in Scotland and England. He migrated to Australia around 1885, when he became a miner at Bundamba, and was Secretary of the Bundamba Miners Association. He was a founding member of the Australian Labor Party in Queensland, and was the first Labor member of any Australian parliament when he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in 1888 as the member for Bundamba. Defeated in 1893, he was subsequently member for Burke from 1894 to 1896 and Bundaberg from 1896 to 1900. He left the Labor Party in 1899 over the party's socialist objective. James Foote
James Foote (1829 - 1895) was a politician in Queensland, Australia. He was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly and a mayor of the Borough of Ipswich. Early life James Foote was born on 2 March 1829 in either Frampton Cotterell, Gloucestershire, England or in Calne, Wiltshire, England, the son of Joseph Foote (a hat maker) and his wife Elizabeth (née Clarke). In January 1848, his father Joseph emigrated to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) as an agent of the Van Dieman's Land Colonial Mission Society and was appointed the resident Independent minister at Richmond within a few weeks of his arrival. Unfortunately, on 10 September 1848 Joseph died after being seized with an apoplectic fit while preaching the divine service. He immigrated with his mother, three sisters, his brother John Clarke Foote and his sister-in-law on the ''Emigrant'' arriving in Moreton Bay on 12 August 1850. William Hendren
William Hendren (1832 - 3 January 1903) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Hendren was born in Armagh, Ireland, the son of Samuel Hendren and his wife Ann (née McCulloch). After arriving in Australia he worked as a storekeeper and Auctioneer. In 1854 he married Annie Jenkins and together had three sons and three daughters. Simon Fraser (Queensland Politician)
Simon Fraser (1824 – 8 January 1889) was an auctioneer and a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early years Fraser was born in Inverness, Scotland, to parents Alexander Fraser and his wife Janet. Educated at Inverness, he ran an ironmongery business in Liverpool before leaving for Queensland in 1862. With John Buckland, he founded the partnership of Fraser & Buckland, auctioneers with the business later becoming Fraser & Son. Based in Queen Street, Brisbane, Fraser & Son were land and commission agents as well as stock, station and produce brokers. The 2017 Queensland state election was held on 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland. The first-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, won a second term in government.
